AR the WAFL clubs were financially compensated and or with player swaps in the old days too but will now not receive one dime nowadays from the vfl!
Brian Peake cost Geelong a mint to EF mid season in 1981 helicopter ride to training and all.

BH: yes mate, your right, I remember his helicopter ride as well; EF had give up that year so they let him go to keep the peace.

As WAFL fans of different clubs we all have our views and differences but I think all of us would agree that the mid season draft is an abomination and another step in the dismantling of the State leagues

You gotta wonder how many drafts the AFL want with the main draft, rookie draft, supplementary draft all at the beginning of the season and the midseason rookie draft now. Christ at this rate, I might throw my hat in the ring as before you know it they'll want an old farts draft.

Dont forget the trade period week well before the draft BC.
All smacks of complete incompetence from the vfl clubs football department if you cannot organise your list for the next 12 months during the trade week, draft, rookie draft and then supplementary draft and are still relying on a mid season draft from State Leagues to top up your inadequacies as a list manager on a handsome 6 figure salary too I might add!

DG I wouldn't doubt Buddy, he always seems to be in the know. Looks like we will lose Deluca, so maybe the injury is not a bad thing as we can switch in a replacement sooner rather than later.

Good win by the boys. I couldn't make it so would appreciate a bit of a rundown of the game. I listened to quite a bit on Kix and it sounded like our skill errors from last week didn't improve much which is a worry but a win over that mob is a good result.

Just looking at the stats and 8 disposals to Jye Bolton jumps out so Hoskins must have done a good job. Kitch appears to have dragged us along and Rowan Powell a good game with 24 touches along with Horse. Borchet is our main target up forward pretty much every week now with Sokol getting plenty of it but a poor return of 1 goal 4. 75 tackles to 50, 19 scoring shots to 10 and 56 inside 50's to 35 also paints a picture of dominance.
