Apparently Wardman was a front runner for a developmental position at Brisbane but got the Subi gig instead. I certainly can see Horse as Subi's or another club's senior coach in a few years time if he doesn't get picked up as an assistant at an AFL club.

BC Horse is a natural leader and did a lot of on field coaching, was a major asset for Schoey. Great communicator and demands respect from all including the senior players. I would think he may follow Schoeys example and do a couple of years assisting at another club before coming back to the fold. He would be an asset to any club in any role.

Great to have you back SS.

Thanks BC, looking forward to some vigorous but constructive discussions with all the OF regulars and giving you and the other Diehards some much needed support against the forces of evil ........ those poor deluded folk that follow colours besides the Maroon and Gold!!

Should be a ripper season ahead and hopefully a much closer comp than we have seen in recent years. I still see us top 2, probably with Claremont, the rest is a toss up, the Gummies should on paper be the big movers with some good recruiting and one of the best coaches of the last decade at the helm, Peelmantle, if things go their way with their AFL masters should be top 4, Souths will still be there and about but not the same as the past 3 or 4 years, happily I think West Coast ressies will be a 3 or 4 win team at position 10, just where they should be, Perth will continue to edge up the ladder, the re-born EP will finish in the bottom half of the ladder along with Joondy and Bogundean should be nibbling at the bottom end of the 5 if they can keep their best 22 on the paddock.

Just my thoughts at this very early stage.

On paper we actually look stronger this year I reckon. Whilst the loss of Clarke will be very hard to cover, we have picked up a classy defender in Marsh and have a really talented bunch of Colts coming through...plus the return of Simon Moore, Ryan Vermeesh, Joel Latham, big Chapman plus a few others will give us extra depth imo. The unknown is the coach but with leaders like Kitch, Horse, Gus Litherland, Jordy Lockyer and Dela, Wardman can be a real spud and I don't think it will matter too much.

We can add Chris Phelan to the list. He will be missed especially in big games where he really had an impact. A terrific career as a three time premiership player and two time F&B winner. His knees gave him grief the last couple of years but he managed to soldier on anyway. Congrats Fez and thanks for the memories.

Developed from a half back to a very classy midfielder who as BC says was a big game player. Will be missed but will open a position for one of the young colts to get a run in the midfield this year. Fez will be remembered a true champion of the club. All the best in Victoria!

Don't forget Schoey BC.....biggest out of all I reckon.....do you think Wardman is going to scare the bejezus out the team at the breaks if needed

Good point freez….hopefully the club has brought Peter German in as a consultant to give Wardman a few tips on delivering sprays.
