Guys in the ressies like Garcia with 3 goals, Boges with 22 disposals, Walters with 20 or the experienced Stevo, should have been miles ahead in the queue.

Anyway, the D's thoroughly deserved their win, while both teams matched each other with the intensity and tackling, the Perth boys ran harder to make space and opportunities, disposed of the ball better and were far more efficient in attack, all things Subi pride themselves on.

Luckily Souths got done so we keep a little break on them, lets hope for both Subi and Souths sakes that the weathers fine in September or they'll both struggle based on this weekends efforts.

Bye next week then Souths at Leederville on a bloody Thursday night in the middle of bloody winter??????????? This is the showcase game of the round but it's up against a massive AFL game between the Hawks and Swans, the Dorks play Friday night and the Toasters on Sunday so why not have all 4 games at 2.15pm on the Saturday. This game could well decide top spot and home ground advantage in the minor finals.

Sorry Senior but the Hawks v Swans is this Thursday night and the Subi v Souths is the following Thursday night.

gotta agree SS. we'll get Twomey and Kitch back for Souths and not sure how far away Horse is but you'd think a hammie is probably 4 weeks so might be a week or so after the Souths game depending on how bad it was. I'd like to see Bogensperger, Walters and Stevo back in. As an aside...how good was Chris Bryan's skills in the wet on the weekend? I thought he handled the ball more cleanly than anyone else on the park and the way he picked it up on the run and in traffic was fantastic.

SS,

Don't be too harsh with the likes of Elliot, this is a classic example of locals not getting consistent opportunities at $ubi, it takes a number of suspensions and injuries for them to get a crack and when they do they flounder !!!

Leedy Elliot is actually from Ocean Ridge in WP zone so even he is not a $ubi local zone talent!

Just getting back to the question of form.

The great thing about form is that it to a large part removes the subjectivity. It's completely transparent.

For example, earlier in the year, a player who some of us thought may not be quite league standard, had a great run of matches in the reserves. Subsequently, he was promoted and rightly so. He deserved it. No arguments from anyone. Favourite or not, the numbers spoke for themselves.

Equally, there are a couple of very talented players in the ressies who I really rate from juniors but they aren't playing well enough to go up and that's fair. They need to click in gear.

And that's all any player or supporter can hope for. Play well and go up, play poorly and go down.

Obviously, there are times where a match-up must be found and so circumstances may force the selectors hand. Sean Bradley is an example. He wasn't firing at all in the reserves. In fact, a few thought his spot in the ressies side may not be secure any longer but due to injuries to Madut, Bestry, Delahunty etc, he went up to league. Credit to him he's done a workmanlike job.

But generally form and match-ups can be worked in together. Well, I think so anyway.

Anyway this is the ressies votes (Combined Club/Supporters) for the year so far
Max Walters Colts/Whitfords 11 50

I think Walters & Bogensperger are both unlucky not to have had more opportunities this year and would have been handy in the conditions on Saturday. We missed the inside work of Kitchen and Horsley.
Is there anyone else that deserves a chance LH ?

LH what about Vermeesch? You would have seen him in the colts. I was impressed with his strong one grab marks in the little I've seen of him. Grabbed my eye. Same game Bradley and Elliot couldn't get a touch so there you go...!

What I meant to say, but for being distracted by this four corners show and a nice red, is that I've never heard him mentioned in dispatches as a possible? But he was well regarded in colts?
