What a contrast from last week against Joondy. Simply a lack of pressure for most of the game by EP and great pressure from our guys, compared to relentless pressure by Joondy.

This gave our mids much more time to execute and execute they did. The field kicking was first class and up forward we had 9 goal scorers 8 of them multiple.
The 2 indigenous boys in Ryan & Yarran with 10 between them but Liam Ryan is a star in the making, his general skills are 1st class, his reading of the flight of the ball is sensational hence his great marking ability and if not in the best position he taps the ball into the clear then uses his pace to get clear, not a big body but uses it well and he's doing more on his defensive game. Interesting to see what opposition teams do to cover him. I think its 13 goals in his last 4 outings.

WART had a host of talls to contend with which may have reduced their run somewhat and it looked like we would get monstered in the rucks and we did 68 to 28 but around the ground Wheeler and Heal had the better of it. Heal was terrific helping Clang in the ruck, his leap is sensational and he took a number of contested marks around the ground.

It started in the centre where our mids dominated roving to their talls really well, Phez was BOG with 28 disposals and 8 tackles and Kitch not far behind in a welcome return to form with 25 disposals and 9 tackles. Young Dylan Clarke was busy with 22 and two goals, could have had a blinder if he was more accurate but his field kicking was superb and had a number of goal assists. Broughts has worked his way into great form with 24 disposal and drifted forward for 2 majors, he is the experienced head down back in the absence of Lockyer and the old champ Rumba.
Horse Hoskins Mahoney all good contributors. The return of Stevo was much anticipated and he didn't disappoint, attacked each contest at full speed and with great vigour, a great sign from a bloke just coming back from a knee reco, will get better with each outing and is so important with Lockyer out and Heal having to cover in the ruck

Had a quick word with Dela in the stand and he said it was a hip flexa 1 -2 weeks, don't expect we will risk him next week even though it's against Fart who are travelling very well in equal 3rd.

Perhaps our 1st true 4qtr effort with 7, 6, 6 & 6 goals per qtr. Interesting if inconsequential point, it's the first win we've had where the frees favoured us 16 - 12, only other positive counts in our 2 loses ........ go figure.

Big game next week against a pretty hot Peelmantle so we will have to produce another consistent 4 qtr effort, only got over them by 8pts in the previous encounter down on their paddock, hopefully the home ground will give us a couple of extra goals.

Spoken with "Bill Lawry" type enthusiasm Senior...wish my mob were giving me something to crow about...I'll take solace in that you defeated the devil's incarnate ;)

Your Basso mates seem to be crowing fairly loudly about the umpires. From what I saw and checking the stats Swans were not treated unfairly, certainly not to the level that Subiaco cops. Imagine if Swans were given a 28-10 free kick count, like Subi did at South Freo, the umpires would be knifed.

Hard to judge Subiaco against a team that lacks any physical presence. What I did like was your younger players have class around goals which holds you in good stead.

LB, watched a bit of the ressies and there's some quality there for you guys, hopefully they stick to the club and get an opportunity but that seems unlikely in the current arrangement when just 8 spots were available for the unlisted boys to show something. Best to hope for is the same as what's happening at Freo so more lads can get a run. Peel had 13 spots open for locals due to Freo's injury woes and they are travelling very nicely at the moment.

It's very easy for other clubs to promise our reserves players league football. Many of our players have left but still end up playing reserves elsewhere. The alignment has years to run so opportunities will be limited and not always on merit.
