If it is being shown on Australia+ TV, I will certainly take a peek - just as I have done with the AFLW.

I wouldn't want to be seen as stuffy, and hidebound in the past. :)

I'll have a look because I want to see the nkotb and what they have to offer. Who knows, I was sceptical of the 20/20 cricket, but now I love it.

First impression - Handbaggers vs Mudholians was fast and unconventional.

Wobblers vs Crows - slower and more like the real thing (which is not a positive).

All players are saying they are buggered, with no time to recover.

6/10 thus far.

Shoot, have they played? When?

I thought it was pretty good. Seems opinions are divded on it. I think if you compare it to regular footy then you may not like it, but if you think of it as a completely different form of footy it was ok. I think it will take on long term.

I watched about half of it and it was enjoyable to watch, not many stoppages and the skilful players really stood out becuase of a lack in tagging tactics. Almost a basketball type set up.

Good luck trying to set up franchises, maybe the lesser known state based players can be involved but afl clubs won’t let players go just like origin. AFL clubs stopped origin footy not sure they will want to release their top end players to something else that could potential loose them for the season.

Looks like a dud spectator product for the traditional footy fan but it’s great fun to play and the kids love playing it. Easy to set up at grassroots level and could attract people who have not played before and might be a good competitor with soccer.
Hopefully the AFL see its value in game development and grassroots football and therefore put funding back into grassroots rather than into chasing TV ratings.

Hill looked smart & ready as did Melksham. Rioli & Worpol showed glimpses to get themselves a chance. Overall some players still cant kick straight but others shone. Game is too short but as they could play 3 games in the arvo one could forgive the AFL..

I must admit I got bored with it as the weekend went on. It is a great training drill and possibly a good way of teaching juniors the skills, but I think as a spectator sport it lacked atmosphere and is bruise free footy.
