Well done India , well deserved....one would like to think Smith could of done Pujaras role....did that v Eng last summer....Pujara was the key for India...yep Kohli is a champ....but averaged only 40 odd.....Pujara dragged a lot of his team mates along at various times by wearing down the Aussie bowlers....similar to what Smith did v Anderson, Broad et al.....pretty sure that is how the Marsh boys made their 100s v Eng....LOL.....anyway doesn't change the result.....Bumrah definitely surprised me, definitely would of given Smith and Warner techniques a good going over like he did to Head, Handscomb et al....

Be interesting to see what the selectors do v Sri Lanka....from the sounds of things Paine is quite keen to give the same lot another go v Sri Lanka.....considering what lies in store in the UK....not sure what path the selectors will take......so far some of their decisions have been bewildering to say the least.....

A quote from Kohli about the Australian batsmen and their approach to playing against the Duke ball in England.
"Playing in England, what I experienced this time was, if you go out there with an ego you might as well not go out at all," he said. "Because that Dukes ball, it buries egos pretty quickly. You have to curb yourself, do the hard yards, grind it out the whole day. You have to be patient as a batsman. There's a lot of time in Test cricket. Sometimes because we're so nervous as batsmen we don't quite realise it, you just want to get away quickly but in England you're not allowed to do that, so you have to bide your time, earn the right score runs eventually.

Given that our batsmen have not been able to score with a kookaburra ball being bowled at them this summer, I don't think theres any risk of our players going out to face Anderson and Co in England with inflated ego's!

I heard an incredible statistic the other day which was that this series was the first home series since 1882 that an Australian batsman has failed to score a century??!!! Surely that can't be right?

Freezin is going to be a happy man and think the selectors are as smart as him as the Eastern states press are tipping Pucovski to be in the test squad.
no mention of Darcy Short though.

as long as his mental health is sorted out then he should be able to do well against Sri Lanka.
what would be your suggestions on how he improves his technique against the short ball before you select him to tour England ?

Perhaps not fielding at short leg might help MO....as for England mate....don't think Anderson or Broad will want to go against their tried and tested success of pitching the ball up to the overseas batsmen at home.....be great if they did bowl short and negate the swing.....why would they negate their obvious strength by bowling short MO?......one would like to have faith in JL in mentoring the kid....on and off the pitch.....time will tell

had to retire hurt 3 times already after being hit over the last 2 years, they were from batting.
good bowlers go after any weakness, push the player on to the back foot and then unleash the full ball - pretty simple.
