It looks in the wake-up of the Victorian state election Morrison has sunk into the gutter with his own version of "children overboard"

www.theage.com.au/politics/federal/morri...20181202-p50jqb.html

Parliamentary inquiries are the mechanism where legislation is improved. But Morrison's aim is not to have the best possible legislation but to play his usual base, racist policies. And an attempt to distract from the most dysfunctional Federal government in the last 50 years.

BH there was two Wa Premiers in the 1950's.They both done about 5 years each.
Sir Ross Mclarity LNP 1950-55..,,,,,Albert Hawke ALP 1955-59.
They probably both contributed to the building of the Narrows.

Speaking of bridges GTR how magnificent is the Matagarup Bridge especially at night when all lit up...another WA icon from the Barnett era!

Seriously BH? Laughable.

42 are you suggesting the Matagarup Bridge is not a magnificent finished product, wonderful design, brilliantly coloured when lit up at night, gives the many folk who use it a view of the Swan River and City/EP not previously viable for many and just a marvellous new asset for the people of WA and visitors to our great state???

BH perhaps you can go through the progress of the bridge from the time a contract was signed until it was built. Maybe explain whether there were any delays.

Who bloody cares 42?!
No doubt there were similar initial issues with the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House, Docklands etc but all long forgotten now.
You would have to be a pretty sad person to continually bemoan the great assets recently built in WA just because it was all done under Colin Barnett and the Libs!
It is now built, looks and is magnificent and is a great asset to the state of WA for generations to come.

BH the bridge was not built during the time of the Barnett government. In classic Trumpesque like fashion, you simply choose to ignore the budget blow-out regarding the bridge. You ignore the asbestos and water contamination at PCH. You ignore the water contamination at the ridiculously and anachronistically named "betty's jetty" development.

You ignore Barnett's failure of losing our triple AAA credit rating during the mining boom. You ignore Barnett's singular failure to develop rail infrastructure during his government and don't even try to reconcile this failure by mentioning the Forrestfield line. From Charles Courts decision to close the Freo line; tricky dicky's bizarre decision to try to build the Mandurah line to go via Oats Street;and to close the Midland Workshop, it is inherent in the Liberal Party's DNA not to develop public transport.

You must be the only person in WA 42 bemoaning the wonderful assets created under the Barnett Govt time in office- Perth Stadium, Matagarup Bridge, Yagan Square, Elizabeth Quay, a plethora of hospitals, schools etc.....thank fark he did build them all now as it would have cost us even more if left for another decade or 3!

LOL, BH , Don't worry if Geoff ( Im out of here ) Gallop had built them they would of been the best thing out...there is no reasoning with someone are partisan as Sean mate.

What are your thoughts on the Craig Kelly saga?

Craig Kelly is best suited to a position on Sky News after dark. The tail continues to wag the Liberal Party. I would think that there is a very good chance that Kelly lose in May.

Clearly and demonstrably the Liberal Party is in denial and is facing an election defeat of colossal magnitude. They continue to listen to the likes of Alan Jones and Ray Hadley and the "Sky News after dark coterie that are far removed from mainstream Australia. The Liberals have failed to learn the lessons of Wentworth and Hawthorn. The fact that a 19 year old student who campaigned for 6 weeks almost won Brighton has not registered with the Liberals.

If "Mainstream Australians" as you put it dump a government on target to deliver a surplus, bringing down energy bills, an economy that is growing, unemployment figures falling, stopped the boats etc etc..... for those opposite that were a shambles last time around and left an economy in disarray who's only question they can put forward on a daily basis is "Why was the previous Prime Minister removed", then Mainstream Australians are a mob of donkeys.
Get on your bike.

DD T Abbott promised that electricity prices would drop by $550; that was a lie.

DD the debt has more than doubled from the time T Abbott was elected. For the record I think you meant to say that the economy continued to grow.

The polls are very unlikely to change because the Liberals refuse to accept that there move to extreme right is not acceptable to the vast majority of Australians. The proof is the swings in seats like Box Hill, Hawthorn etc. As I have pointed out Labor almost won Brighton with a 19 year old candidate who campaigned for 6 weeks.

Let me point out that during the Gillard minority government Gillard wasn't forced to cancel the House of Reps; nor had only 10 sitting days in 5 months.

The arrogance of Sky News "after dark" Paul Murray has enhanced the likelihood of the demise of the Liberal Party in May, 2019. He actually thinks that a guarantee that Scott Morrison will continue to lead the Liberal Party after the election enhances their chances. His is deluding himself.

Said "Now!" And each one hears,
And consummation comes, and jars two hemispheres."

If we're talking about Shorten and his cronies, I prefer Banjo Patterson's The Man from Ironbark...."their eyes were dull, their heads were flat, they had no brains at all..."
