If your 200++cm it's soooo much easier to get a game even when pretty average. Cudos to the WP junior system where he learned the game and to Subi which gave him a preparation and training regime as close as possible to an AFL environment.

Yep well done on Baker getting picked up.. means WP still get most of the $$$ for him being drafted..:P

As they should terror, his development years were with them, Subi just added the polish and professionalism needed to get noticed by the recruiters.

The final siren event at Subi was pretty well done today. I only stayed a few hours but it was great to see lots of past players and it was a bit of nostalgia to walk on the oval one last time. Interesting the club lost $148k this year...as I've said on here before and was reported in the annual report of 2016, the AFL seats deal hasn't been as lucrative since about 2011 due to the downturn in the economy. I wonder how all the other G7 clubs went this year?

I was also at the Last Siren event on Sunday.
Garcia is having a year off, Bogensberger has secured a job in Mandurah and can't commit to coming up to train at Subi, whilst Madut has gone to Melbourne as his family have relocated there.
Rhys Watters and Sean Bradley return along with a few ex mainly reserves players like Luke Norrish and others I can't recall.
Justin Joyce says our new recruit Newton is one of the best kicks he's ever seen, so that sounds encouraging if he can stay fit.
Ex WP player Rhode is definitely at Subi.
