With the last two games up against the top two sides away from home this weeks game is vital to get the 4 points which will give us a two game buffer over Claremont. If we are to play finals this is a must win game. With Nynyett out suspended for a week who is available to come in? Would like to see Giobi back and Lennon Marlin deserves a chance. Where is Mitch Lague at?

According to PFC website injury list 25/07 Mitch Lague is season.
Dennis was listed as 2 weeks so maybe he would be available.

The only good to come out of that loss today was it exposed our deficiencies. Listened a bit to 107.3fm after I left just before half time and got no idea who he was commentating with Phil Lamb but he was spot on when he said Perth needs to go and find a ruckman and a key forward. In other words what we've got now aren't cutting the mustard.

Good crowd of 2000 plus but a disappointing display by Perth. Oh, and I saw about 3 other Perth supporters leaving the ground at half time also. That's mothballs for us in 2018. It was nice while it lasted.

I would have left at the 20 minute mark of the first quarter if I didn't have a car load of people with me. Was lucky able to go at 3/4 time. Terrible today. Such a big day for the club.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

You blokes are shocking, Claremont are up and about atm, your boys have played a solid 2 months of footy and still lack that Finals experience or pressure and your all straight back into kicking them when they slip up :(

Its alright for you to say that Leedy, you follow a team that plays finals regularly.
Since our last finals appearance you guys have played in 6 grand finals for 3 premierships not to mention the number of finals series you have played in since 97,

As a club we need to critique that performance for what it was and realise what its going to take not to just sneek in 4th or 5th position at seasons end but go out and get what it takes to become a top 3 team.

This was a huge game for us yesterday,at home in front of a good pro Perth crowd and many left feeling justifiably disappointed.

I hope the midset of our club officilas is build on this list because next season we could lose a few kids in the draft as well as see a couple of mature players get picked up,

We cant go around another season with Eyres as our number one ruckman.
Spencer White as a 10 point player needs to be better than he was yesterday.
Over using hand ball and centring the ball to a 2 on 1 (against) contest when you havent cleared your defensive area are things coaches should be telling you not to do.
I think our game plan needs tweeking.

Round 16 and the same errors and turnovers that were there round 1 still exist, good sides punish you on those mistakes and Claremont did it in spades yesterday.

I thought before this game that we probably have run our race for 2018. Claremont came to play and we were unable to apply any pressure to stop their fast run on play and good ball skills.
We have a good solid foundation to build on. Sure we will lose some players but if we finally go out and get the recruits we badly need then we will have a team that will play finals next year. If we don't get the recruits it will just be another de javu.
Yes, we need a ruckman. Eyres has really improved but he cannot do it alone.
Spencer White is no where near worth the 10 points. Three seasons and only 24 games. He was not interested yesterday and will probably be out with another injury next week.
We must find a tall forward who can grab the ball and kick goals, and a tall defender (Michael Johnson would fit the bill nicely if only for one season) to complete the defence..
The talk yesterday about our midfield was all about the need for a tough inside mid ala Sketcher and a pacy outside mid. CJ and Yeo are doing a great job but they need more support.
So, four recruits and we can step up that extra notch next season and become a contender.
A great debut by Sidney Stack. The kid can play but probably not for us next season.
Two very tough games to finish this season. I just hope that we don't put the cue in the rack and that we come out and give a bit of cheek to Souths and Subi.

STATS SUMMARY
Perth VS Claremont
359 Disposals 362
182 Kicks 243
177 Handballs 119
46 Hit Outs 55
14 Frees 19

They only had 3 more disposals than us.
177 Handballs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hand balling instead of kicking. Hand balling to a player under pressure causing turn overs or rushed kicks to the forward line. The vast majority of forward entries were not to our forwards advantage. Rushed sloppy kicks going forward usually as a result of over hand balling in the middle or coming out of defence. Leedy is right, we have had a great month of footy and should be happy with what they have achieved this year especially considering most of us thought they would only 2 games all year. I guess we didn't expect to go backwards so quickly.

What else does he have to do? I wouldn't be surprised if he cracks it and moves on next year, and I for one wont blame him.
