September 8 mean anything to you guys? Happen to drive passed Moss st today and saw a couple of posters on the fence about a meeting to discuss the future of EF Oval and its surrounds. Obviously Claremont have done it, something supposed to be happening around Lathlain Park including new clubrooms. I think something is planned for Bassendean Oval.

Do you guys see your future at Moss st or do you think you have to be bold and shift to a growth area out in the south eastern corridor to ensure your survival ala what WP did moving from Leederville to Joondalup?

I'm not inviting smart ass answers here about WP's current financial crisis. On the field it's been a very fruitful move for the Falcons.

As far as I know, East Fremantle's move to ground share at Fremantle Oval is still on. Sometime in the future.

The President did briefly raise this at the lunch on Saturday. Might have my facts mixed up but I think he said there were several community consultation sessions coming up with members and supporters urged to attend and provide input into development discussions.

In respect of the coach, he mentioned they’re down to five candidates and it will be finalised quite possibly this week. A mate of mine reckons that Luke Dwyer, who missed out last time around, is a chance, but not sure how he knows that.

Rob Wiley briefly spoke at the lunch. He accepts results have not been good enough and that change was needed, thanked the club for the opportunity to coach, wished only the best for the club moving forward and generally presented himself incredibly well in what could not have been a fun situation.

Hopefully the new coach will get the full support of the players and get improved performances next year.

Given that Luke Dwyer is an employee of the WCE why would he go to a part time coaching role at EF. he would be good but FT as opposed to PT.

Not sure Dyer would drop from full time to part time either......perhaps Dwyer would be on the same pay scheme as Wiley was.....if any of that was on the money.....WCE money of course.

So EFFC joins forces with the FNA with the ultimate goal of putting back into the community with a few netball courts at the proposed new EF Oval precinct redevelopment.....hopefully a fresh paint job and Bobs your uncle, a spruced up sporting facility not only for footy but a wide range of other recreational sports as well......surely a positive indicator for EF playing future......

FNA? mate they wont be moving, you would never get all those courts plus a footy oval into Moss Street.

Yep Shimmon mentioned indoor courts...hey any sort of action plan that sways the council to give the thumbs up for an upgrade of facilities at Moss St is surely a positive thing for the club and community.......though I do think the consistent naysayers who love bagging the current shite facilities, might disagree with this.....

Sorry Freeze, 58, KC & co but it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to have 2 x Fremantle WAFL clubs located barely 2km apart in this day and age.....and with the long term plans for Fremantle Oval once the C.O.F move back into their new facility it has to be the preferred venue not to mention the history!
