Unfortunately there is a default mentality in Australia that even if a first term government has done nothing, even if there is a little dissatisfaction people are prepared to give them a second term. That's what voters did in the last state election in WA and look what we ended up with. A government that broke it's pre election promises and drove the state into a deep black hole.

The Libs are saying a vote for Labor is a vote to return to the chaos but the Libs have done exactly the same thing. Two leadership challenges resulting in another new prime minister not elected by the people. And make no mistake, the reason Tony Abbott didn't resign from politics after being dethroned, is he wants his revenge.

Unfortunately Labor were farcical last time but I think most of us thought by voting the Libs back in would bring about stimulus and confidence in the economy but they (Abbot and Turnbull) have failed to deliver on that front and they have mucked up NBN feeding us some bullshit that a mickey mouse hybrid version would be just as good but cost much less and be delivered faster. It's been a disaster.

Along the way they have tried to slash and burn services to try and reduce the deficit.

DD Turnbull and before him Abbott's hands were tied by the senate who instead of acting as a responsible house of review were little more than a bunch of school kids trying to one up each other with new ways to wreck the country. People say that the Rudd Ju-liar labor govt's worked well with the senate, that's only because of their coalition with their left wing lovers the Greens.

Like Shorten had to do a deal with the Union bosses to get his chance at leadership, so to did Turnbull with the Libs right wing. If he gets elected in his own right you will see a different sort of PM but unfortunately the Senate vandals will do their best to undermine everything the libs put to the senate despite the libs having a mandate should they win.

So far dead even 57 each. Looks like it's going to go right down to the wire and WA could be the king makers.

Seriously what a joke your comments re the Senate. Which political party went to the 2007 election with an ETS in their platform and which political party voted AGAINST an ETS subsequent to the 2007 election?

Let's go back to the 1974 double dissolution and the obstructionist senate in 1975.

Even if Turnbull remains prime minister he will be hanging onto power by a fingernail. Tried to call opposition and dependents bluff by calling a double dissolution election clearly to get a greater majority.

If it is a hung parliament then Malcolm should come out and thank the people who voted Liberal but tell the public the government cannot do anything for 3 years or until the public understands that minority government does not work.
Cannot for the life of me understand why people vote for the minor parties, it achieves nothing. All it does is stop government from governing. What is the point of that?

You voted to stop Government Governing, you didn't vote for a government to govern.

The election computers are all over the place late saturday night.
Abc saids Lnp 72 v Alp 64......Sky News saids Lnp 69 v Alp 65...AEC saids Alp 70 v Lnp 68.
Both the major partys are on notice with the other vote.Senate reform has failed in this election.Might be the first and last time the Lnp and Greens get in bed together.
Labour lead in 14 close counts. The Lnp lead in 13 close counts according to the AEC.

Malcom is spitting the dummy because he isn't as popular as what Malcom thought he was. Poor Malcom, now claiming Labors campaign was dishonest and foul play was used. Go tell the headmaster Malcom. On the other hand, though it looks like in defeat, Bill Shorten is going to come out the winner. lol
