The simple fact is he’s not a number one ruckman.
Doesn’t mark the ball enough during a game and very rarely dominates his position in a game.
Gives his all no doubt but the team needs more.

No one is saying he’s the worst.
What we are saying is if we could get our hands on a genuine tall number one ruckman it would go a long way towards this team pushing for a finals spot .
Everyone seems fixated on the fact there’s not many good Rucks in the wafl,isn’t that even a bigger reason as to why we should be doing everything possible to get one.

Considering SD had probably the best ruck combo going with Gault and Blakely, yet finished 8th....not sure why all the angst in the Perth camp about lacking more than 1 decent ruckman?...would of thought Graham was right up there a few years ago....yet Perth finished last.....Think with White gone, Perth need a tall forward target to get the ball down to the likes of Bennell, Ninyette, Narrier et al....Howz Garstone's fitness going?....talented sort who can't get on the park sadly....whatever happened to that colts fella a few years back who the goal kicking comp for Perth's youngsters?

Hey Freeze what worked or didnt work at Swans has absolutely no bearing what happens at Perth.
Surely Strngdica assisting Griffen makes East Freo a better team?

Re- Angus Graham when he was here (the whole of 18 games) and when fit he virtually played a lone hand in the ruck,
Eyres was injured/out of form,at 29 next season im not sure theres that much improvement left in him.

We have Eyres then Baldwin-Wright who is developing and not yet up to league standard so if Eyres goes down we are into our part timers and our depth is not good enough to get away with that over a season.
A guy like Garstone has missed a lot of footy through injury and has done well in the past pinch hitting in the ruck but id prefer to see him develop as KP forward.

Looking for a ruckman should not deter our recruiters from looking for a tall key forward which we desperately need.

I think if Michael Johson pulls on the boots playing down back and we recruit a tall KP Forward and get that genuine number 1 ruckman through the door and i reckon we start looking ok.

Very true 30+, tho gotta feeling EF will be better off with Loersch and Strnadica as targets up front....Griffen will obviously benefit having Strnadica to share the load...esp since Griff had a few injuries in 2018 and he is getting on.....but look at SF....successful with Higgins and a shed load of targets up front....WP with Keunan and a shed load of targets up front....Cl the same....and Subi as well....Clarke rucked freeing up De La Hunty in the forward line.....mate for me a couple of decent tall goal kicking forward options seems far more important than two decent rucks...

Those ruckmen you named can all influence/dominate a game or have a huge bearing on the outcome of a game we just dont have that type of ruckman at Perth.

We are almost there with our forward line and the addition of one tall marking KP forward would be the missing link we have been looking for.

I reckon at this point in time there will be no major/marquee type signings.
For mine so far it’s been a disappointing recruiting campaign.

Have we addressed our needs,filled onfield positions that have been our Achilles heel for the past few years for 2019?
