Hope you’re watching Gil. You’re worried about (or should be) the falling support of the game. Have a look at this one. Sydney are the MOST boring team to watch. They just destroy any possibility of an exciting contest. May be a winning game for them, but a losing game for the AFL. It’s half time, but I’ve got a good DVD I think I’ll watch instead.

From all reports a shit game of football by the top two sides in the competition. Reckon I might see a better game tomorrow at Lathlain. Possibly even the Fremantle v Carlton game will be a better spectacle. Then again Ross might instruct his players to play a kick behind the ball and try and catch them on the counter. Riveting stuff.

I thought it was a good tough fought contest.
The Eagles had there chances especially in the first and last quarters but butchered the ball too many times going inside 50.
The Swans in the second term iced the game and deserved there win.
I loss yes but not a one sided result only 15 points in the end they’ll bounce back.

I guess we have differing thoughts 30yr. It was a fair effort by the Eagles against a club that is a blight on our game. however, the point still remains that the type of footy that Swans play and force other teams to play is killing our wonderful game. I don’t know what the big Gil can do to rid us of this shit, but at a squillion dollars a year, i’d Expect him to come up with a solution or move on so someone with vision can take over from him.
I couldn’t watch the second half, but Hemmsey’s 12 Strong was a better watch.

I agree but that’s the way they have played for a long time and at the SCG if you don’t take your chances like the Eagles didn’t tonight they make it ugly and it turns into a low scoring slugfest.

You’re right there, they have played like this for a very long time and that’s why they are the one team I never have gone out of my way to watch. Another case of the Swans not winning the game, but the Eagles losing it

I too thought it was a close tough match. Only inaccurate kicking let Swans gain the advantage.
Couldn't imagine the Carlton - Fremantle having any excitement at all.
Swans , Eagles, Tigers & Port play aggressive football. Good to watch.

Caught the first half. That was enough. Very poor spectacle and not a good advertisement for our game. Sydney certainly to blame, for this has been their modus operandi going all the way back to the Rocket Eade days. Having said that the Eagles did themselves no favours with their poor kicking and lack of directness.
