I'm going to start by grouping players that I think are likely to play forward, back, midfield and the ruck. Some players will overlap into 2 categories.

Start with the Forwards. Hogan, Lobb, Taberner, Cox, McCarthy, Dixon, Walters, Mundy, Matera, Ballantyne, Colyer, Sturt

Backs. Pearce, Hamling, Ryan, Logue, Wilson, Conca, Duman, Kersten, S. Hill, Cox

Midfield. Fyfe, Mundy, Walters, Conca, Langdon, Blakely, Cerra, Brayshaw, B. Hill, Banfield, Tucker, Bennell, Giro, Crowden, Colyer
Switkowski, Valenti

Yes was assuming all are fit and available A/man. Left Harley out for obvious reasons. Griffen Logue will like a new recruit if his body holds up. He's stated already he wants to have the type of impact Big Mac has at WC. Big statement, will be a bonus if he can walk the talk as well as he can dance in the locker room. Lol

Conca and Colyer are easily in our best side.

Its not my starting 18, Conca would go close. If Colyer is in the best 18 then who would he replace?

Conca probably fits nicely across half back if Stephen Hill isn't fit. Colyer I think has only racked up about 37 games in about 6 years at Essendon. He probably had his fair share of injuries but I don't think he ever really established himself in the Bombers best 18 or even 22. But hopefully his body stands up and his best football is in front of him.

I'll go first.. it doesn't matter if you can recruit well if your coach is in the mould of Mick malthouse 20 years ago in 2019 , your screwed.

I can't defend those two. Fremantle should have cut Ballas last year, like Danyle Pearce hung onto a year or two too long. Matera was a top 10 draft pick originally from memory and worth a try but so far has been very disappointing.

Our improvement is going to come from those drafted the last few years. Logue (done nothing yet), Blakely (injured), Langdon, Brayshaw, Cerra, Sturt, Valante, Darcy, Cox and a number of established players brought into the club over the last few years like Hamling, Wilson, Hogan and Lobb.

Only late in the game today I saw space for Hogan to lead into and players kicked to that space. They need to work out a system up forward, we can't have two talls crashing into each other. WC have done it successfully with Kennedy and Darling and Hawthorn previously with Franklin and Roughead.
