3 out of 3 for the Warriors in the JLT cup now and they looked pretty imposing in an easy victory over a Victorian team that included Maxwell, Handscomb and White. They have an impressive array of quicks with Coulter-Nile, Richardson, Tye, Green and Paris all featuring. A powerful batting line up with the very impressive Phillipe opening with Inglis with Short, Turner and Stoinis all keeping the WA run rate high. Good debut also for Qadir who may also feature in the Shield games as well in the absence of Agar.
The Warriors will be tough to beat in this competition. Lets see how they go against Queensland with Chris Lynn in top form.

Darcy Short has just hit 257 off just 148 balls for WA vs QLD at Hurstville Oval in the Jlt Cup clash.
His innings included an astonishing 23 6s.
WA bowled out for 387 in 47 overs.
Chris Lynn must be licking his lips at his chance to bat.

Wow that is just awesome! May well propel Darcy straight into the Australian one day team this summer. Hopefully they issued safety helmets to the spectators!
Over to you Chris!

Now Andrew Tye gets a lazy 6- 46 to finish off the Bulls. Also add Matt Kelly and Jason Berendorff to the reserves of pace riches available to the Warriors at the moment. Almost back to the Halcyon days of the 70's where it was a production line coming out of the WACA!

....Great knock by Darcy or so I heard it was a great knock.... one can only guess with 20 odd sixes, that it was a great knock.........hopefully JL is true to his word and rewards players scoring runs...big runs...Weatherald, Short, McDermott and Lynn all should be in the running....need fellas who can find and clear the boundary....

D'Arcy certainly enjoyed the short boundaries at Hurstville Oval.
Notwithstanding that, it was a smashing innings with several sixes either going out of the ground or crashing into the press box window.
He's a very rare talent, D'Arcy Short, and I hope he takes all before him this summer.
Well, maybe not when the Hurricanes play the Scorchers in the BBL.

Another win to WA today at Hurstville Oval this time vs TAS.
Chasing 291 for victory we got the runs with 10 overs to speare thanks largely to an unbeaten 93* (49 balls) from big hitting Marcus Stoinis with handy contributions with the bat from Phillipe (50 off 33), Short (63 off 61), Turner (33 off 42) & Richardson (29* off 43)

You do have to laugh Freeze WA finish unbeaten on top of the table and then have to play the Semi Final against the VICs who scraped into 4th spot on their home deck at the Junction Oval.
CA must take their fixturing lessons from the VFL!!!

Geez that was an awful game by the Warriors, yes it should have been played at a neutral venue at least but no excuses as they just didnt turn up to play on the day . The Vics would have probably beaten them anywhere. Bowling on both sides of the wicket, too short on a small ground to allow guys like Harris, Handscomb and Maddinson to free their arms. Then the most telling was allowing the tail to put on over 100. When they got Maddinson out they were 6 - 230 and from there WA should have been able to bowl them out for 275, which they would have chased down easily.
Then there was the batting. After a great start from Phillipe and Inglis, the required run rate was well under control until some poor shots and a needless run out knocked the stuffing out of them.
A horror day which they will want to forget.
