Interesting article in the Canberra Times online today.

Ainslie FC has pulled out of the AFL's NEAFL competition, leaving East Lake FC the only ACT side in the NEAFL.

Its interesting to read that Ainslie has pulled out after the AFL suggested it merged with East Lake, or significantly fund a Canberra representative team (so the GWS and Sydney Swans reserves have a competitive punching bag).

Queanbeyan, Belconnen both pulled out within the past two years due to financial requests made by the AFL to remain in the NEAFL. Tuggeranong was apparently asked to leave the competition for lack of on ground performace prior to that.

What it probably means is the AFL doesn't always get its own way, and nor do traditional clubs have to take it up the butt.

Don't mind the the Neafl but the small clubs will be squeezed out due to either money or performance and the comp will end up very small

You can watch each Tuesday or Wed. on NITV the NT Thunder games which gives a few games of all teams through the season. Some of the Brisbane Lions academy boys in Hipwood and Keays go alright from what I saw, and thd Lions will draft in the upcoming draft

Conveniently an article on Keays came up today on his draft prospects www.lions.com.au/news/2015-09-18/keays-excited-for-draft

See NT Thunder won the NEAFL GF last night, watching their games through the season they have far too much advantage over the majority of teams, such a large drawing area like the whole NT football system to one team.
