Yesterday China banned two Australian Coal ships.From unloading there coal from a northern Chinese port.Chinese officals say that Australian Coaking Coal.Used to make steele.Steaming Coal used to make electricity. The highest grade Coal in the world no longer meets environmental regulations. However China has tripled imports of lower grade Coal from Indonesia +Russia.Over the last year.The black Rock is Australia's largest export earner with 25% going to China.
Some industry insiders say China has been stockpiling AU Coal the last decade.And there new generation of Coal powered power stations.Are made to mix our coal with the lower grade Russian+Indonesian Coal.
It is also been claimed that China is furious with the Australian Government. After cyber attacks on Canberra earlier this week.And the claim that the attack was a State run cyber attack.No country was mentioned. Also the possible banning of Hawaii from Australia .Who steal technology off rival companys.
So if China sneezes we catch a cold.And our $ crashes.And where now heading for a big recession with our massive East Coast property bust.Allways amazes me how we have everything in this country and the capacity to build most things we need.If China dump us we will be better off in the long run imo.Won't be as much fun shopping at Bunnings or Kmart.Most of our high quality imports come from Japan,Germany+United States+South Korea.

Absolutely spot on gtr well said. This is tit for tat stuff as much as anything else. Maybe we can put a nice big tariff on our A2 milk formula and stop them growing healthy babies to fire long range missiles to kill us in the future?

Maybe we can keep the best fruit and veg here for our consumption as well as our best meat cuts and seafood? Yes less profits for the big exporters but the Australian consumers will be the winners and it will be a lot cheaper to go out for a meal.

I wouldn't panic too much, its a minor coal port, they actually import more of our Iron Ore through that particular port, also it doesn't impact on Coking Coal, only burning coal.

Reporters asked President Trump about Tarrifs +the Chinese Trade war+EU.He said he's the wrong person to speak too.He loves tarrifs because of the massive revenue his government recieves.
