I tend o agree with AM, I think they will get bans relaxed and be allowed to pay shield cricket next year. I don't think they will be selected for test cricket until their initial returns expire (9 months for Bancroft and 12 months for Smith)

It appears Warner is listening to someone and now has decided to accept the 12-month ban handed to him by Cricket Australia, meaning there will be no appeals over the ball-tampering scandal.
Warner was thought to be likely at challenging the sanctions after he was accused of being the ringleader in the affair.
He dodged questions at his media conference on Saturday and later confirmed that was due to him taking advice on the process.

Well that is a surprise...I thought for sure he'd appeal and drag it out as long as possible. Maybe there's some back room dealings going on between CA and the players association to have penalties reduced so Warner wouldn't drag others into the scandal at a hearing.

Heard on the bush telegraph Cameron Bancroft has been cleared to play club cricket in Western Australia while serving his suspension for his part in Sandgate.
Apparently the decision was made earlier tonight.
He can now play for his club side Willetton after the 16 WA Premier Cricket clubs held an extraordinary general meeting to vote on the opener's future.
A debate by members of the Western Australia District Cricket Council was held before a vote was taken. Apparently the vote was carried 14 for and 2 against.
The Cricket Australia ban ends in late December, then Bancroft will be free to play for WA, the Perth Scorchers and Australia again.
Good news for the young fellow.

Listened to Clark and Hughes talk about this on 91.3 the other day. Smith and Warner had previously been cleared to play club cricket, but not Bancroft. Typical CA bullshit. Only fair he is allowed to play.

58s it is my understanding that it was the WACA rules which prevented Bancroft from playing grade cricket not CA.
