Any suggestion that drops in membership will put the clubs in a precarious financial position is laughable, both these clubs are rolling in dough. They consistently cry poor, cant justify being part of a national reserves comp then without a second thought they find money to start up a womens team (which is a great thing btw), both clubs have no shame, how can you justify rises of the ilk of 17+% as quoted in another post ($850 up to $1000) its just price gouging, these people need to get out of their ivory towers and get down amongst the real people.

And I always thought footy was a working mans game too SS those astronomical membership price figures would suggest not!

Bh do you know if there's a list of the Wafl Clubs members numbers.

Not sure mate I do know we had a push on to try and reach 5000 members a couple of years ago not sure we reached it though?

BH I use to talk to Melbourne based Swans members on Wafl Online. They where all Collingwood supporters in Vic.Swans would have a few country and interstate members,

Member numbers are usually noted in each clubs annual report after their AGM's so maybe our WAFL FootyFacts man can collate them and publish after all the clubs AGM's are done. Maybe we members can all assist and send in our own clubs member numbers when we get our copy of the AGM minutes and annual report. Note the P & F numbers as well ... always interesting reading B)

Hard to tell often SS , a lot of clubs only quote Members Subs in their financials, from there you can have at a guess what the number is, problem is there are different grades of fees for members ie Pensioners, Country, Ordinary Junior etc...

I think the last time actually members clubs were published most clubs were around the 1000 - 1200 mark.

Subi gives full figures.

In 2007 SFC had 2702 members, last year it was 1701.

That's a decline of 1000 in 10 years, doesn't augur well for the future.

Bazz are you sure that 2700 includes Country and Interstate Members also.

yes Subi normally includes country members, haven't seen an interstate membership list.

Getting back to the topic, as far as Eagles memberships go, the day I learned that the WCE took over the back stabbers, I handed my membership in. I'm not suggesting that the takeover was the cause of the drop of numbers, but I'm sure I'm not the last man standing.
