We always have the rhetoric abt creating jobs, we do it better than u and look how may we created, BUT even with a mining boom the fluctuation in the unemployment rate varies little.

The responses are abt full time and part time, casual and so on but nothing really changes and I was working when the CES used to release the seasonal adjusted rubbish so it ain't an old question,

Next one is the current issue abt the tourism folk getting into the current government abt tourism not being where they want it, hey your industry you do something and stop blaming others,

last one why is the current governments fault that 100 cows died up north and 1000 somewhere else animals die in the outback (unless they are feral and they should be culled),

seems like we getting into the blame process good and early!

Grump...politics baffles the crap outa me full stop. We're governed and decisions made by the polls of the day and not by what our elected representatives think is best for our country or for us...and that's both sides of politics. Rudd/Gillard/Rudd and Abbott/Turnbull/Morrison fiasco has come about by blind ambition and power crazy individuals who couldn't give a toss about you, me or anyone else. When you see our wonderful country being stuffed up by experts in stuffing things up then you've got to wonder what the future holds. Bring back the John Howard's and Bob Hawke's of politics and give us some hope at least.

Interesting post Grump. The one where the Government's are sneaky in employment data and unemployment figures.Workers in industries that are regarded fulltime\casual are not included in the unemployment figures.Mining, construction, civil engineering, body hire workers.
If Wa's true unemployment rate was 6%.Dont think we would see 25% reduction in house rental values in the last 5 years.A decade of - real estate valued. 50% of all small businesses owners making less than 50 k a year.

I was working in the old DSS when the CES was around and the figures were so manipulated until we went from 2% to 10% or thereabouts, staff went from 8 fold processing claims to 120 in 12 months so all of a sudden there figures here a bit more realistic.

Now we have the ABS figures and the ones from the private employment providers ( and they as sure day and night ain't gunna be accurate).

We also have the prize numpty in the mining sector sprouting how he employs this many fold with so many Indigenous folk and the rips them all off!

It would be good just to have set of figures that aren't so rubbery in both employment and jobs!

Miners have some form Grump. There the ones who where screaming for 457 workers, a decade ago.Who all came to Wa and made heaps of money. And left when the money dried up.Not reinventing the money in our local economy..
