Baz I have worked in Wa Construction for over 30 years.What I have seen in the last 5 years is total madness.Afgans have overrun the wall and floor tiling trade.The Chinese are in every trade working 60 hours a week for about $1000 a week.A company from Melbourne is at the Carlton Ritz hotel Elizabeth Key with 100 Chinese tradesman from the East coast. There refusing to employ West Australian's. Even if there white,coloured or Asian heritage.Massive oversupply of labour and body hire company's.

With a Federal government big on stopping boats but more than happy to grant work visas to enable them to come in and do exactly what you describe.

Thats frightening, but Ive noticed it as well, go past a city building site and I started noticing big groups of obviously imported cheap labour.

What hope have you got when you have an ACTU which supports large scale immigration?

It is not just in construction either -- I know of people from the FE whom are working in restaurants for below award wages.

Abbott, of course, would gave done something about it, but was stopped by all the psedo ALPists in the cabinet, such as. his lorship, Bishop and Pyne. He was one vote, an important, but one vote only in cabinet when he was PM.

It all feeds its self, the property sector want high numbers, to fill and flog the units they build, the builders want them up as quick and as cheap as they can, so they import the workers they stay on bridging visas, the builders and developers now are often Chinese owned and operated , they get all their own people over and exclude locals, then they get their families over and it goes on and on.

Student Visa are another scam, for years , 60% of students never return home, they are a bridge head for the family to come over through family reunion.

I read a really good article on this.

It talked about what the Australian economy is based on now, all our export and real earning only come from two things now, exporting finite resources, mainly iron ore and coal, and importing people (including foreign students that pay but that never go home ). That's it, when the mining runs out and we have 40 Million people here with lower living standards in degraded cities with no work.

Interesting that figures have emerged showing waiting lists to become an Aussie citizen has increased from 23,000 under the Abbott government in 2014/15 to 240,000 under Turnbull. I'm of the view it is far too easy to get citizenship in Australia with all the perks that go with it.
