By any fair assessment AFL is the most popular and successful sport/code in the country, increased attendances and ratings, sponsorship and broadcast rights.

I would say the impact of Australian Rules Football is now far greater in NSW and Qld now than it was ever in say 1977, just look at the Swans Academy and its results.

The NRL ACTUALLY supports the WAFL more than the VPL that ACTUALLY DELIBERATELY and SYSTEMATICALLY DESTROYS the WAFL.

Exactly how many people in QLD care whether G Ablett stays at the Gold Coast, goes to Geelong, retires or flies to moon?

The VPL has destroyed Tassie footy, the VFA (VFL) and Canberra footy. Next will be the WAFL and then the SANFL.

Of the 2nd tier competitions how many will be playing state footy next year?

Baz: of course they have a better presence in NSW and its northern colony QLD, they have put four teams in those states. The AFL has a captive audiance, one can't go watch another comparable league, whereas, with other sports, that is certainly not true. I won't watch the so-called A-League in a fit because I can watch a better version of the sport from England and the continent

Was watching an American show on you-tube about the AFL.It was said that AFL is the 6th biggest spectator sport in the world.Amazing considering our population in the Southern States.And Gws offered 2000 seats V Adelaide. Only 341 members went to Adelaide.

Two of the most populous states in Australia couldn't give a stuff about the AFL. Read the Daily Tele, SMH,Courier Mail to see how much they care about the AFL in NSW or Qld.

I stand by the comment that the NRL supports the WAFL more than the AFL. The NRL is not ACTIVELY trying to DESTROY the WAFL; the AFL is indisputably and indubitably are ACTIVELY DESTROYING the WAFL.
