Swan 42: Thank you for adding to your list. I would put the AFL on it, but not for the drug scandel, responsibility rests with Essendon alone.

Bringing in 2 new (fully funded by the AFL) teams of course will help boost the overall attendances numbers!
I would be interested in seeing what the actual attendance average per game number is?
That may tell the real story!

NRL already poor crowds dropped another 3%

A league are losing about 100,000 a year off their peak 2 yrs ago - ratings stagnating.

By any fair assessment AFL is the most popular and successful sport/code in the country, increased attendances and ratings, sponsorship and broadcast rights.

And two of the three biggest cities don't give a stuff about Aussie Rules. So in two of the three biggest markets it is a periphery sport.

Really in the biggest city it seems they don't give a stuff about NRL either...as its on the slide..

Unfortunately your attack on our indigenous game doesn't add up Swan as more people watch AFL coast to coast than any other sport...

I would say the impact of Australian Rules Football is now far greater in NSW and Qld now than it was ever in say 1977, just look at the Swans Academy and its results.

Your all over the place Swan, one minute you attack the East for not caring about WA and now you are cheering them on..lol

you are just letting your hatred of the AFL cloud your judgement of the great results they are getting.

FFA - for their grubby failed World Cup bid. The fallout from it has seen the demise of two clubs, Gold Coast and FN QLD, because they were rushed in to bolster the bid, and the A League is now stagnant.
