Bill Shorten is starting to get found out by journalists when pushed on economic matters and how he's going to fund his promises on health and climate. Then we've got the Greens who want to shut down our Gas rich resource industry which not only powers our economy but the rest of the country. Can't wait for the next polls.

Question for Labor devotees. If Labor don't win the un-losable election, since they keep hammering the Coalition, in particular the Liberal Party, will they elect a woman to be leader of the Labor Party? Or have they already fulfilled their "quota" obligations for women when Julia had her go?

Billy is promising over $100 million for war veterans. Better would be an apology saying Gough got it wrong when those fighting in Vietnam returned. They were disposed by Whitlam & his cronies..

Some big cracks starting to show in labors campaign. Shortarse is starting to fumble the ball a bit too often, maybe the pressure of leading labor to the "unloseable election" is getting the better of him. if he cant handle what should be a walk up start into Govt then how can he be trusted to lead the government for 3 years?
Mind you the Libs aren't all that impressive and the idea of a fundamentalist Christian leading a government is as disturbing as it was when the mad monk was in charge.

What a poor choice we are being presented with, no wonder many folk look to the independants at times like this, but they will never be the solution. Where have all the strong decisive leaders like Hawke, Howard Keating and Fraser gone?

Watched an interview with Barrie Cassidy recently and he said those blokes you are talking about would sit in their offices for weeks and have meetings and make calls and develop policies whereas today's guys are out and about everyday in the high vis gear and don't have time to develop decisions. Sounded true.

Is that disposed or despised? Many got it wrong on Vietnam, the way veterans were treat upon their return (and this is by the general public and not necessarily politicians from either side) was appalling and a national disgrace.
Sure an apology is great and meritorious, but doesn't pay the bills for all the trauma so for me genuine financial assistance for our former veterans is more than words - no matter which politician or from which side they come from. Apologies or actions? take your pick. The two can certainly go together but one is only words.
