Equates to less than 9 months for each charge.

If it was 6 years min then maybe its approaching a reasonable sentence. Disappointing to hear that his age and health were mitigating circumstances when deciding the length of the sentence, Did pedophile Pell give consideration to the age of his victims?

It's now down to the Church of Rome to not only defrock pedophile Pell but to fully excommunicate him, only that will send the appropriate message to priest offenders and their victims. If they don't then it's more proof that they don't consider it a serious crime.

I can't imagine the Vatican booting Pell out before the appeals process is exhausted.

Given that he has already lodged an appeal, and the fact that there have been a number of doubts raised over the conviction (rightly or wrongly) - I wouldn't be surprised if he applies for bail until the appeal.

How much were you expecting?

Hopefully he gets his dues inside and gets no special preferential treatment. Hopefully he gets to experience the kind of things he was found guilty of done to him and have his liberties taken away from him. That would be justice.

How much more? and what legal precedents are you basing it on? did you listen to the legal reasoning by the Chief Justice ?

Yes I did and the judge said Pell was ARROGANT. Pell also refused to swear on the bible & give evidence. More arrogance.. Just another under sexed prick.

While 'Pell' may not have received what many wished he had for the deplorable act/s, you may also agree that this conviction now causes him the following as well as the Catholic Church being besmirched by one of its highest ranking pedophiles being charged.
indignation - ridicule - loss of face - loss of standing - social pariah - removal of past significance from towns/media/schools/etc and the list goes on.

Some may say only a fraction of what his victims suffered and still suffer- but still it will remain with him the for the remainder of his life.
There is some justice in that I feel

The longer this goes on the more we find out, the sentencing process gave some further insights into the case, for me the appeal seems less likely to succeed which for me is a just outcome
