Mount Eden
Daintys Daughter
Pure Steel

Prex Chevalier
Black Irish
Village Kid
Classic Garry
Jack Morris
The Falcon Strike
Our Mighty Quinn

That is a superb list DD, champions the lot of them. Could also add the latest WA sensation Chicago Bull. Baltic Eagle was another WA ripper.

Few names there must be before our time I'm assuming BH. Have you forgotten Fimiston, Heron Bridge, Jungle Dawn, Moss Kingdom, Phizam...... to name a few.

Plastered looked like he could have been anything but I think died on the track.

Yes DD the likes of Eurythmic, Easingwold, Jolly Beggar & Blue Spec were all from the early 1900s but won the big races in Melbourne- Cox Plate, Caulfield Cup, Melbourne Cup etc. Aquanita was from the early 1960s.
Those you listed were very good horses in the 80s but only really won in Perth, I excluded Moss Kingdom as there was a family connection.
Plastered won a Vic Derby and I did consider him but unfortunately his race career wasnt as long and distinguished as the others.

Yep usually injury struck a lot of these horses down and ended their careers when they were on the cusp of taking on the big eastern states races. But most of them raced against and whipped a lot of top flight horses that came over here thinking they'll just stroll around and collect the cash.

Fimiston was being prepared for a tilt at the Cox Plate when he broke down and the Laurie Connell owned Phizam won everything here and won or placed in a few group races over east and was being targeted towards the Melbourne Cup when he broke down.

Who would you take out of the above list to put in a couple of Perth only winners?
I am surprised you didnt nominate Rocket Racer as well!

Fellas, i will readily admit to having a severe lack of knowledge about the horses but took a lot of interest and became a follower during the great Northerleys reign in the early 2000s. I’m certain Winx wouldn’t have pushed aside the fighting Tiger aside like she has done her recent cox plate rivals. But you can only beat what you compete against in your time and she commands almighty status for that, well done.
BH, A WA horse I always admired who toppled Northerley when he was close to his peak was Old Fashion, an Australian Cup I think it was too. I remember having a bit of dough on Northerley that day and being pretty confident but Old Fashion being the better horse on the day.

I was right there and watched about 5 blokes chain linking their hands to help Rocket Racer back to the stalls after winning the Perth Cup (then 3200m) by 10 lengths. All I can say is the stewards must have been well paid that day. Lol

Yes I remember Old Fashion TOO he was a very nice horse but I think it was another from that same era called Old Comrade that knocked off Northerly in the Australian Cup around 2002.

I stand corrected BH and you remain at the top of your game, it is Old Comrade I meant.
Interestingly I am acquaintances with the part owners of Railway stakes winner Old Fashion
