I'm not a big NRL follower, but even to that degree, I am aware that Billy Slater is a very high profile player for the Melbourne Storm.

After an illustrious career, he is due to retire following the Storm's grand final game next weekend.

Only problem is - has was reported in his previous game for a blatant "shoulder charge" - which is clearly outside the NRL's rules.

But guess what - the Barry Hall/Merchant of Venice defence has prevailed in his (Slater's) appeal before the judiciary, and he is free to play on Sunday.

I'm just glad I don't support the Roosters.
