Huge day in the world that as little as a few months ago would have been unthinkable. Trump has achieved what the last 4 or 5 US presidents could only dream of. It's his no nonsense approach that has made this happen with lightening speed. He might be brash, he might be arrogant, he might seem at times to be reckless and unconventional, but that's how he rolls and gets things done.

If KJU is a smart man he will seize the opportunity to turn North Korea into a modern economic powerhouse and transform into the modern world, bring North and South together and end the pain for Koreans torn apart. His country will prosper beyond his wildest dreams and be revered by his people like he couldn't imagine. North Korea will be boom town the likes the world hasn't seen. Everyone will have a job and that place will be flat out building infrastructure to cope with tourism.

Yes. Apparently the 2 had a one-on-one private meeting for approx. 40 minutes. The discussion went well from what we're told. Then their teams came around the table for more discussions. Trump has done what a lot of others could not / would not do. At least he has got the ball rolling. And quite possibly another meeting between the 2 could be held some time in the future. Whilst people should never forget the terrible and inhumanely cruel Human Rights abuses on his own countrymen instigated by Kim and his henchmen, hopefully the abuses will stop.
Apparently a press conference is being held some time this afternoon. Would be fantastic to see relationships move forward after this ground breaking meeting.

the fact that he can now nuk the west coast of the USA has also helped the negotiations -- it has given the North Koreans something to bargain with in the talks.

Well done to President Trump and Kim-Jun-Un.The closest we have come to a peace treaty with North Korea after 63'+ years.What's been important here is that DJT has only talked about Nuclear Disarmament and has not kicked NK over multiple issues.Although a number of issues where discussed. China in a modern Capitalist system ran by a Communist government.No reason why KJU can't still run NK.

Interesting to see what can happen when a businessman runs the country. If this comes off, he would arguably be the greatest president the US has had, certainly in modern times.
This is what Kim had plannned some time ago so he could get to the bargaining table with thoughts of huge investments to build his country. ( Not my words, but those of a political analyst when all the foo for all was going on.). Perhaps he was right.

Why would anyone pray for failure? It is not the "looney left" that is always looking for the next war.

If this pans out, Trump deserves all the praise which comes his way. However, if you care to take a deep breath, and remember a bit of history, a similar agreement was signed in 1994, and look where that ended up.

A little perspective is called for here. I would point out that when D Trump was asked what was in the letter he received from the NK President he said it was a very nice letter. In THE VERY SAME INTERVIEW after saying it was a very nice letter he admitted that he hadn't opened the letter. One can only hope that he leaves the negotiations with officials that are able to distinguish between reality and fiction.

Yep this statesman like stuff from Donald, well done. He has done what others haven't been able to and that is in part, obviously to have a mature one on one discussion with a leader that the whole of North Korea is very proud and appreciative of.
Now he has singlehandedly sorted out the whole Korean issue can he do us all a favour and pop over and sort out the Israel/Palestine matter.
Should be quite simple for someone with the dipolmatic aplomb he has applied in Singapore in the historic Korean Solution.Perhaps he could take Dennis Rodman as an envoy, perhaps he can have the same impression on Benjamin Netanyahu and Mahmoud Abbas. He could lay the groundwork before Donald flies in to give them a throrough tongue lashing regarding their insipid efforts to achieve peace in the middle east. Maybe it is as simple as a very nice letter, it worked with the North Koreans.
If only Donald had been around during the crusades we could have been done with this pesky Jerusalem situation centuries ago.

And while Donald is at it hopefully he has time to drop over and sort out what the hell is going on down at East Fremantle.
