Norwood Football Club has been accused of breaching the SANFL's salary cap regulations.

The allegation relates to payments to a player last year.

The Redlegs face a fine of up to $50,000 if found guilty.

SANFL executive Chris Davies said the Redlegs had been told to respond to the allegation before March 25.

"All SANFL clubs are aware of what their responsibilities are," he said.
"I think at this point we'll look to judge this particular case on its merits. As I've said, I think it's important that we show to the clubs that the regulations stand for something and if they breach them then there are penalties to pay."
