Hi all,

The long wait is finally here. Footy's back baby.

First few rounds I will just be giving tips to see what the competition is like but as we progress I will commence a few write ups - hopefully we can get a few involved on the B grade thread this year!

Collegians v Whitfords - Whitfords

Ballajura v West Coast - Ballajura

Kalamunda v Maddington - Kalamunda

Curtain Uni Wesley v Willeton - CUW

Swan Athletic v Mt Lawley
- Mt Lawley

in addition for what its worth - my ladder prediction.

Balla, CUW, Kalamunda top 3

Whitfords, Mt Lawley, Swan Ath, Willeton next 4

Maddington, West Coast, Collegians bottom 3

love to hear your thoughts!
cheers gardz

Geez Sugar Balla must have had a big off season if you pick them top 3 in their 1st attempt at B Grade - massive step up from C1 to B Grade as i think they will find out. Interesting to see how the points system affects each side. Having said that they will win a few games on their Auskick oval

For what its worth:

Wesley-Curtin will not lose a game if they can squeeze all the recruits on the park
West Coast looked to have recruited well from the WAFL
Swan Ath, Mt Lawley & Whitfords always around the mark
Collegians & Kalamunda looked to have lost a few quality players

My Ladder:

Curtin
West Coast
Swan Ath
Mt Lawley
Whitfords
Collegians
Kalamunda
Ballajura
Maddington
Willeton

Curtin to beat West Coast in the GF

Goo Luck to all sides

Kingsley won lost C1 gf then won B grade the next year so the gap is not that different. Usually in every grade at least one of the promoted teams makes the 5 .

Agree Jords but it also helps when you recruit a number of quality players to your club (as Kingsley did) to enable them to do what they did - i'm not sure Ballajura have recruited as well as Kingsley but i suppose time will tell

I wonder if Kingsley have retained the majority of their side from last year ( i know they have lost a couple of quality players to the WAFL) to see if they will be c ompetitive in A Grade?

Im pretty confident kingsley kept the same squad from C1 to B. Just a well structured club

What Ballajura have in their favour is great club depth after having all sides play off in the GF last year winning 3 from 4 and only loosing the other by a couple of points. They are also a very young quick side who will test many in B grade. Looking forward to a good B grade comp this season.

My ladder prediction
Curtin
West Coast
Swan Ath
Mt Lawley
Ballajura
Collegians
Whitfords
Kalamunda
Maddington
Willeton

Big statement if Balla can beat the Coasters at home this week!

No one will get close to Curtin this year. They looked very good in their two scratch matches against A Grade clubs (winning both in a canter).

Ladder -

Curtin
Swan Ath
Whitfords
West Coast
Mt Lawley
Kalamunda
Ballajura
Maddington
Collegians
Willeton

Saw Ballajura play a few games last year as well as the GF, don’t have any talls, other than the big fella, who I think was from EP, will have to find something extra in B grade to match it with the big boys

SD351 Ballajura matched it with West Coast all day only to have the last couple of goals put the game to bed. On that form Balla will be very competitive this season and any team that takes them lightly does so at their own peril.
