They do staff all the grand finals & run their own bar, canteen and take the gate takings but clubs have to bid to host the event. If it was a lottery there is no way known the WAAFL would be picking East Fremantle Oval to host the B Grade grand final.

Swan District football club is not to blame for all this, can’t blame a club for opening its bar and serving drinks! Could you imagine if they didn’t open and then everyone getting in here bagging them out because they didn’t.
The clubs or people involved in the altercation on the hill need to be held accountable and fines given out accordingly.

Actually disagree with you here KTB. Swan's have to take a lot of the blame and not the clubs (not saying the clubs are innocent) However the RSA needs to be kept up. When i made my way over the hill the intoxication level was amazing. Not enough security booked again not the WAAFL's fault the host club is responsible for it. Also more than Swan's, the clubs and the WAAFL. The dickheads that caused the incident and got involved should take all responsibility for it!

personal responsibility - dont blame anybody but the people involved.
plenty of GF's held at Basso and other WAFL grounds over the years, never heard of any dramas before..
what is wrong with people today that they cant be responsible for their own actions and want to blame others..

All licensed venues are required to serve alcohol responsibly. It sounds like this was not the case on Saturday with a large group visibly intoxicated at the wing bar area. So it sounds like Swans were in breach of their Liquor License and must also take some responsibility here.

how do do you know all of this Major ?
maybe they smuggled alcohol in and were plastered ?
maybe sober people purchased drinks for drunk people ?
you are making assumptions about what happened..
the first point of responsibility in adult life begins with yourself, we have all these stupid rules in society cos people cant take responsibility themselves..
they were idiots, give the clubs a ticking off and move on..

Well another season has come and gone and well done to all the winners on the day.

In the colts North Beach definitely had there chances but University should have put the game away by half time but whether it was lairizing or just finals nerves they kept North Beach in it for longer then they should have. Well done University

The Reserves was quite similar however this time North Beach were the ones looking good, but couldn’t quite put Trinity Aquinas away. A goal early in the last and some good pressure meant North Beach hung on to win.

In the League game it was pretty evident that Scarborough was the dominant team and that they were ready to flex that upon Fremantle C.BC. I thought during the 3rd quarter that Freo CBC were going to come back, but every time they kicked a goal Scarborough responded. Good to see Scarborough winning on and off the field.

In other news MrM cannot fathom why people would try blaming Swan Districts or anyone else for the actions of those involved in the fight.
You are responsible for your own actions therefore all blame is for those involved.

As for The Big Shuffs comments about players wanting to play for Scarborough I am sure he is absolutely right about people not wanting to go bush to play football. MrM could think of much better things to do on a Sunday than get in a car or bus and travel 2+ hours to play football in a country town and then come back again and having to work on a Monday…
I will give them they might not be paid to play football, but probably a lot easier to play for free knowing you could steamroll over some opposition on your way to a flag without ever getting out of first gear.

MrM is happy though there is some interest in his topic though…emails have gone through the roof being notified.

Agreed Mr M on the booze front. Whoever started the fight is entirely responsible for their actions. Blaming Swans is a cop out and an endeavour to pass the buck. Who did start it by the way?
I beg to differ on Scarborough not paying players though. I have a mate involved in a Kalgoorlie club who offered an ex AFL/WAFL player 4 figure some per game this year and he knocked it back to play for Scarborough.
Now he may be playing for less but he won't be playing for free.

Why Ta's and Scarbrough as the example?
