Happy they got caught. Any club caught in breach of the bye-laws deserves to be punished.
But, how long do the WAAFL keep trying to pull the wool over our eyes. It's always the "lesser" clubs whom are found out.
The rot starts at the top, yet we will never see a CBC, North Beach found out (for example)

No changes to the fixtures have been made. Cobras still listed in C4 league preliminary final and Reserves GF.
If they have been kicked out which teams have taken their place?

It would have to be a forfeit and easy entry to the Grand Final for Kwinana and Osborne Park. The team that lost the 1st Semi Final would have had their Mad Monday and not be in any shape to play tomorrow.

As Cobras won the reserves second semi this means that Jandakot and Osi Park will proceed to play off in the GF instead of playing tomorrow.

In the league Kwinana will proceed directly to the GF to play Secrets next week.

Just when you thought you had seen it all. Maybe the league waited until after the awards night so as not to cause embarrassment all round methinks.

Wow who would have thought players were getting paid in any grade of ammo's?

Here is a a question I would like an answer for from those in the know?
Have the said players in question been de-registered?
They must know who they are?

Pretty sure they wont be?

So the same thing will continue as it is in nearly very grade from C4 up unless there is a new points or salary cap introduced?

We may never see an A Grade side get caught though I am guessing.

Amateur Status
A player is only permitted to participate in the WAAFL as an AMATEUR.

The WAAFL defines an AMATEUR as one who does not receive or agree to receive, either directly or indirectly, any remuneration or reward whatsoever (whether by match payments or expenses or otherwise) in respect to their participation as a player in the WAAFL.

A player who has or have received such remuneration shall:

A. be fined a sum not exceeding $2000; and
B. have their registration to play cancelled.
A player is permitted to receive a match day award in recognition of performance not exceeding the value of $200.

The Cobras were found guilty of allegedly OFFERING travel money to a player.

The player in question was never offered travel money nor did he receive any travel money. Two stat decs were provided as evidence from the Cobras.

The player that is no longer at the club was asked to sign a stat dec that was prepared for him stating he was offered travel money

The player was questioned at the tribunal and stated he never received any travel money nor did he ever request payment of this so called travel money while he was at the club as he stated he forgot.

The player couldn't give a value to the alledged travel money offer.

The club was found guilty based on the grounds of probability and not factual evidence as there is no evidence to suggest this allegation is true and correct.

Cobras weren't found guilty of paying players but allegedly OFFERING travel.

So in essence you are saying the league has penalised the club for nothing?
How did the league find out about it?
The disgruntled player came up with it and then renegged?
I would hope that the league has not penalised a club 1 or possibly 2 GF spots on a whim?
Hopefully it will come out in due course & I would think they may have some evidence somewhere.
If said player owned up initially he should be de-registered anyway in my opinion which accounts for nothing really.
Interested in the process and what comes of this as I would be seeking advice for my club if this happened.
Potential lost income after two weeks of finals at the bar alone?
Good luck and keep us updated
