This game will be shown on 7 mate on Saturday at 0140.
West Perth again reached finals in 2017 and it will be a youthful and relatively new-look Falcons line-up in 2018 under first-year captain Aaron Black.
Should be a good day for footy with the forecast being 26 and Sunny

WAFL WORLD is a on again on Monday 7-8 This weeks show can be heard and is well worth a listen

Preview of the game by Ross Lewis from the Budget

Saturday March 31, HBF Arena
West Perth Claremont

Story so far: West Perth got to rest up for the start of the season
proper last week but had a narrow loss to Subiaco and a comfortable
victory over East Fremantle during the practice games.
Story so far: Claremont failed to notch a victory from its three preseason
matches although there were tight losses to Perth (nine
points) and Swan Districts (six points). There was a 59-point loss
to Peel.
Running hot: Shane Nelson won last year’s club champion award
and has continued to serve as an important on-and-off-field
role model to a batch of Falcons newcomers.
Running hot: The WAFL competition already knows Kane Mitchell’s ability and the Sandover
medallist warmed up for 2018 with 34 possessions last week.
Who is to come: East Perth (A),
South Fremantle (H), Swan Dists
(A), Perth (A).
Who is to come: East Fremantle
(H), Subiaco (A), South Fremantle
(H), Peel (A).
Last time they met: R23, 2017 – Claremont 10.14 (74) lost to West Perth
12.6 (80)
This result, decided by a controversial umpiring decision, ended
Claremont’s final hopes and thrust West Perth into the top five at the
right time. Nic Rodda and Andrew Strijk did the damage for the Falcons
while veteran Jake Murphy had 32 touches.
The key: Ryan Lim averaged 25 possessions a game for Claremont last
year and combined with the arrival of Tom Curren and return of Kane
Mitchell could become an even more damaging player for the Tigers in
2018. He had a solid pre-season campaign.

Yes good lineup. They did say on WAFL WORLD WP would be a bit short up forward. Disagree in that Apparently Rudy has lost about 10kg? That is certainly an improvement on the weight he was carrying last year
Tlyer is capable of a few goals and must be improving with games. Good to see Striker still in the mix a handy guy forward or back. Michael Lourey is still there and hopefully he will have a good year up forward.
If anything I think our Back line is lacking even though a couple of experienced Backs there?
Centre line looks good with
1 Aaron Black 18 Jay Van Berlo 9 Trent Manzone Lining up.
I really hope Chris Keunen has an injury free season in the ruck. Missed him last year
All the best to all the 7 WAFL clubs.. EF had a good game v Peel at Peel so they are on the improve.
Only game finished as of my post.
Have put the teams below..as well. Not stealing your thunder Westaussieguy just shows the matchups as well for those interested. For a larger copy click on the image.

Heres the reserves side... All the best to them tomorrow.. All the best to Mitchell Antonio after the bullshit by the Tribunal in 2016. Good to see you back Mitch

A good win to start the season. Apparently both sides had approximately the same amount of ball usage.
Hope Riddoch's leg injury is not too severe. And I think Lourey? with an arm injury also. West Perth would be hoping those 2 can take the field next week.
Well done Footy Radio on a top class broadcast.

Yes we can't afford any injuries with our lack of depth, farkn 1st game and we may have significant injuries to Lourey and Riddoch :(
