A FLASHBACK... SOME GREATS IN THIS GAME

some great names in this game.

10th May 1986 West Perth 20.11 (131) v Claremont 19.14 (128)

Just to get us into the mood... Ah Percy calling the game.

Taken from the comments

What's NOT mentioned is that with EIGHT minutes to go West Perth were down by EIGHT goals when West Perth's equally infamous knuckleman George Michalczyk and a Claremont player ran into each other and were both stretchered from the field unconcious. A real sickening crunch. George retired after this game.

Played at Leederville crowd 5885

Gee reminds me of a game this year v EP :cheer:

Funny watching that video reminded me of comments Sam Newman made back in March this year.

Controversial Channel 9 personality Sam Newman, a good friend of West Perth great Graham “Polly” Farmer, yesterday sledged rival Channel 7.My first reaction was, what incredible low self-esteem Seven must have to worry about stuff like this, Newman said. What I suggest Seven do is, if they could, shape up and sharpen up some of their football coverage so that the general fans would have something to watch this year, that would be a good start.I can see where they are coming from though. They might think that the (Channel 9) logo might remind folk just how well Channel 9 used to do football when they had it.What will happen is lack of sponsorship will drive clubs that are struggling and need money away and put them in dire straits. And Seven can put that feather in their cap.

Eight goals down with eight minutes to go? Come on cardy, it was a good comeback but not that good! Talk about stretching the truth!

A good article by Aaron Black.. Says it all about the club and our depth.
All the best to all our sides playing in the mighty Red and Blue today
I know you are a severe critic of Aarons articles GROWLER but give it a rest.
Blackie is a great player and servant to our club. Well done Blackie your thoughts are reflected by all WP supporters. :)

Mate if YOU READ THE POSTS on the YouTube it was in the comments.. Percy says they had kicked 8 goals in the last qtr... the other commentator said 3 goals in 3 minutes.
Ok whoever put the comment on maybe got his facts slightly wrong but it was a big comeback. :) :)

All the best tomorrow... if you win you deserve it... Looking forward to a hard game.
Hope we can win it for Swans.... ;)

Poor Growler...Bad night hey? You are welcome to your opinion on Blackies articles but I see nothing wrong with them.
Re Seagulls nah no shit today mate we played SF last week and they were out in force :)

Abnoxious prick gee thats heavy considering the majority of my posts are there for other supporters and giving them a 1 stop shop in all things WP.
As you commented a lot of it goes unanswered but the Hits indicate that a lot of people appreciate my posts and read them.

GO CARDIES.

Looks like the Colts have met there match this week. :(
Cla equal top of the ladder.
They will play finals next week v Peel or EP.

Great to see at least they will play 1 or 2 games of Finals but suspect looking at the ladder CLA and SD will play off the GF? On form

Proud of their efforts. I see Hinchy is playing Colts today and not elevated to Ressies. NO one can ever say that our Colts have under achieved this year.

Amazing finish at HBF Arena with Claremont kicking the last 4 goals to beat West Perth 9.15 (69) to 10.7 (67).
The win means Claremont knocks out Swan Districts from the finals but West Perth plays Peel next Sunday in the qualifying final at HBF Arena.
Michael Lourey and Aidan Lynch with 2 goals each for West Perth.
Aaron Black had 36 disposals, Trent Manzone 33, Ray Bartholomew 24, Blake Wilhelm 24, Jay van Berlo 23, Steven Browne 22, Steve Potente 21, Drew Rohde 21.

Lets hope the Injuries to Lynchy,Marcus, Chris and Striker are minor and they can hit the park next week.

Attendance 1850... Dont expect we will have that crowd next week :( Sure all the loyal WPFC will be there.

Peel side could be interesting if Lyons decides to rest a few Dockers.

Congrats to CLA for a great final qtr... Not fair as thats our game... All the best to them v EP.. Condolences to SD we tried but not good enough in the end.
