A very good article from Community Newspapers. Walton gets a lot of egg on his face and shows what a Spin Doctor he is.. :( Well done to David for not ducking for cover and saying it as it is.. a pack of lies and deceit by the WAFC..
A lot questions to be answered by the WAFC especially considering all the Major sponsers money went to CHN 7 Rather than Football development in the WAFL and other WAFL issues

Hopefully scans will work out if not will try again. Have put color and BW Scan on

Dont forget to click on image for larger size.

Sorry guys barely readable but did a bit of research and came up with the Newspaper link that is easy to read.. click on this link

I think the time has come for G Walton to tender his resignation. Absolutely no-one who has any association with the true values of the WAFL could have a scintilla of confidence in the direction the WAFC is taking the WAFL competition.

How can anyone suggest that the West Perth board should have foregone the Channel 9 sponsorship money on the flimsy possibility that Channel 7 was going to telecast the WAFL sometime in the future. If the reputed $1 million in sponsorship had not been found does G Walton seriously believe that Channel 7 would have telecast the WAFL? Under those circumstances would G Walton and the WAFC paid the sponsorship money thet West Perth were supposed to have foregone? No wonder the WAFL competition is in the shape it is when we have people of the ilk of G Walton running the competition.

Yesterday's telecast of the Swan Districts vs FFC game was one of the poorest quality I have ever seen over a long, long time. It looked cheap, was cheap and was commentated cheap. Well done to Greg Harding for his comment at 3 qtr time. Disappointing they didn't win.

If you go on current ladder
first week will be WP V Peel (No Tv) East Perth and Swans (Maybe TV)
second week Subi v WP (No Tv) Peel v EP (May TV)
if WP Lose WP v EP (No TV)
GF S v WP (No TV)

That's correct L
18 of the qualifying rounds plus Finals are to be broadcast, so everyone was told! But that is one of the questions that still is yet to be answered, is how many Finals will be broadcast? Why do we need to wait 400 years for answers? On the above scenario, four from six will not! Which gives the broadcaster and the so called commission no credibility whatsoever!
Another very important question, will there be radio broadcasts of the Finals?

They are only concerned about the Preliminary & Grand Final. All the other finals are two games on the same day so they will televise the none West Perth Game. Having a chat with the honchoes last Saturday the club is standing firm. We have to focus on winning games and hold second spot and then we wait and see.

We had the media release by Channel 9 on showing games. click for bigger image

We now have the spineless WAFC reply.. which we all anticipated. Click on link

Get used to it as it is a 3 YEAR contract.

Which in part says... click on link above for full article

The WA Football Commission has resisted any prospect of Channel 9 televising WAFL finals this season, saying Channel 7’s exclusive rights to the league prevented any rival broadcast.

In a dramatic escalation of the seven-month impasse that has seen West Perth banned from Channel 7 broadcasts this season because of the Channel 9 logo on their jumpers, Nine managing director David Mott yesterday offered to cover Falcons games if they remained the subject of a finals blackout.

But the commission immediately rejected Mott’s claim that Nine could guarantee live coverage of West Perth finals matches and confirmed that the WAFL was the exclusive property of Channel 7 for the next three years.

If the above reply statement is not damning enough, not sure what is. :S
For what reason has the claim been rejected? Why has he not explained himself properly? If Wafl Finals cannot be televised, ALL sports broadcasts had better cease and not be shown!
What a pity the premier cannot go into bat for Wafl fans. He's usually got an opinion on other matters!
