AR Peter Kenny played mostly in defence in his 2 years at the Home Of Football Bassendean Oval. Like most players in that era Toddy liked them to be versatile in playing at both ends so he would occasionally switch him forward if needed but not very often.

BH,GTR: John Todd was ahead of his time in regards shifting player here there and every bloody where, that is for sure. It is where Sheedy got his ideas from, especially in regards the use of Leon Baker

Spot on AR and yet all you will hear from the moronically stupid Vics is how Sheedy changed the game when in fact all he did was copy the likes of Todd!

Bh: we can use this site to keep people honest which is very good. Strangely, 'Bease', as you know, Sheedy admitted all of the above, it is just that the average Victorian never listens. He, Sheedy, even attended a SD game, and he and Todd sat in the coaches' box together.

The big difference between John Todd and Sheedy on coaching philosophy was that, Todd, for his part never over did a move, includding moving players around. On the other hand, Sheedy moved his players that often, that, in the end, they lost form and could no longer keep up with the Hawthorn side
of the era.

AR I have heard Sheedy say it in the flesh that he flat out copied the coaching from the likes of WA coaching greats Todd, Armstrong, Brown et al in his many visits to WA in the late 70s & 80s.....as you quite correctly post it is the moronically stupid Vics and their equally brain dead Pric media that refuse to acknowledge any WA-WAFL influence!

Good question GTR I know 42s lady admirers where asking after him the other day as he has been conspicuously anonymous during the Colts & Reserves Finals campaign...actually come to think of it for most of the 2018 season....maybe being seated next to one G.Taylor for the Colts GF might spring him back into action quick smart!!
