The current drop off in attendances coincided with the host club alignment and the complete domination of Subiaco.

The qualifying round attendances were increasing until 2011. Suddenly all this alignment talk started. Then that had a negative impact on crowd numbers. 2012 numbers show a 6% decrease on the previous season. 2013 was minus 4.8% on 2012's figures. 2014 has again a slight decrease of .04%. 2015 figures has an increase of 1.6% over 2014.
Then 2016 being a complete bloody disaster of just a tick over a 17% decrease on the previous season. Then last seasons figures are still low but showed a little 3.6% increase over 2016.

Your blokes were genuinely standing around like witches hats Freeze...hope it was just one of those inexplicable days that all clubs occasionally have as genuine lack of application. I’ve seen 2 games now this year and both were non contests ...scary times for the WAFL if this is the new norm.

Two weeks on the trot now DW....think the SD loss bites more because in all honesty SF are top 2 or 3.... whilst SD like the rest of Cl WP Perth and EF would be there and there abouts for that 5th spot.... sadly yesterday EF were no where near that....one off maybe....but the comp needs the likes of EF Cl Perth WP and SD playing competitive footy and adding something different to the existing alignment, Subi and lesser extent SF dominance or advantages.....can't afford to have blow outs amongst these games.....already get enough of them playing the big boys....

A long way off the EF that came and played at Basso late last season. Honestly thought you guys would be on the up in 2018.

Good stats, WAG, there has been a disturbing decrease in attendance in recent years, due, I believe to the alignments and overall WAFC disinterest and apathy.
Regards 2016, the 17% decrease was due in part to a horrendously wet winter.
Groundhog Saturday - a pattern of six dry days followed by a wet Saturday.

For those who have been attending Swans games for the past month, can you shed some light as to why Adam Faulkner was playing ressies on Saturday? Has he just lost form or has he been getting the ball but disposing of it poorly and the coach has lost patience with him? I honestly thought that his kicking improved quite a bit last year.

His disposal hasn't improved in conjunction with his decision making and his attitude has been less than what would be considered appropriate for a league player. I would expect that he won't be playing league again (and we shall see on Saturday at Freo Oval) this side of June.

GTR the official crowd at Basso on Saturday was 2113 which as I estimated earlier in this thread was slightly bigger than the week before vs WP which was just under 2000.
What has been glaringly obvious in the games we have played so far is the lack of opposition supporters at the games which could be a reason for the atmosphere lacking you had suggested earlier not too mention the one sided contests and we have been on the end of 2 shellackings even the WP crew who add some noise and colour were abnormally quiet despite giving us a decent licking.
With the warmer weather on Saturday most took shelter in the shade of the stands, members and bars thus the outer bank wasnt as populated as per normal.

Really surprised by that number BH.The McDonald and Walker stands where only half full. The members takes the bulk of fans.Like you say the ABC commentator's on top of the P Bright stands can only see the outer.2100 far better than 1200.
