Don't think this thread has been started with Mike away.
Swans where fantastic today.Scored 7-5 before the Sharks hit the scoreboard. Was hot for late April at 28 degrees. Very fast moving footy with wonderful foot skills on show.
Gault at full forward had 20 possessions and marked strongly and finished with 4 goals.3 in the first 15 minutes.Great return to form from David Ellard,Palmer,Turner.Wilson.Was a great team effort with hard running into space, great kicking and accurate hand passing.Tony Notte held J Griffen and former Royal Payne was very good of the back flank.
Only disappointing aspect was the very poor crowd maby 1200.With both Afl teams playing the derby tommorow.Would on a lovley day think between 3 to 4 thousand even with both teams form. Maby as Swan 42 said the Colts alternative venue might be a sign of further crowds reductions.???.The poor crowd was mentioned numerous times on the 720 ABC radio coverage.

Black & Whites deserved those 4 points & definitely are going to be around the place come September & importantly picked up some valuable percentage as a reward for their efforts

No need to worry of the poor crowd gtrxuone.
The 2 alignments will (supposedly) generate more interest in the WAFL. And apparently attendances will also increase apparently according to the 'commission'. And officialdom knows best....

It was a good percentage builder; but could have been better. If we realise how effective Gault is with a good kick into the forward line we may improve even more.

Interesting to see number 7 playing in the ressies today.

Gtr there appeared to be very few East Freo supporters there today so that obviously impacts the crowd. Unfortunately it all comes down to the complete lack of interest in the WAFL league competition from the WAFC. In fact an employee of the WAFC encouraged spectators to not go to the WAFL league today.

Bizarre decision to remove tradition of the WAFL three grade system in aid of a sparse pack of Victorian vultures really Swan

That aside you'd be pretty happy with Steve Payne & Rhys Palmer today looks like they've added another dimension at Basso already mate

Were we playing East Fremantle today? Played more like North Fremantle. Didnt score their first legit goal until well into the 3rd term. The game was done and dusted by 20mins in and the opposition were absolutely pathetic. Something not right at Condemned Park and the coach has to be on thin ice. They were an undisciplined rabble from start to finish. On the other hand we had 22 contributors, really should have beaten the record margin of 111pts between the clubs today.
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

It will be worse next year. I expect that what happened today will be the norm next season. Exacerbating this the ressies will be shunted off to who knows when to make way for a women's league match.

3 of their first 4 goals from frees and the other from Coniglio who can’t play.
Great team effort, well lead by the Doc in the ruck

My apologies as I thought Mike was back this week.
GTR there was at least as many there today for the League game as last week but as someone pointed out there was barely an EF supporter at all at Basso today although one did have to chuckle at one of the few who did bother showing up who was berating Palmer about not going back to EF and completely oblivious to the fact EF themselves had already chased hard and signed on Swans boys Boakhorst & Fletcher! :S
