He went to Carlton after that but continued to be plagued by knee issues and came back and played a few games for Swans in around 86/87.

Handy cricketer too I heard, used to own a few Sports Locker stores. Still plays indoor cricket and is a wilo the wisp apparantly. I plan to hit him up at some stage for a "Where are they now?" Interview

Dead right mate I unfortunately had to leave so many great local zone players out like- Langsford, Boucher, Nowotny, Fitzgerald, Holden, S.Richardson, Skwirowski, Sartori, Cransberg, A.Sidebottom, Smith, Fogarty, Penny, A.Holmes, G.Walker, Grasso, Retzlaff, Gow, Bazzo, Peel, Kelly, Edmonds, O'Neill, G.Taylor, Cornelius et al from that sensational 80/90s eras.

Even forgot guns like O'Reilly, Ball, Handley, Hunter, Embley....sheesh

Ron Skender turned out to be a pretty handy local zone player albeit his best years at WP...we fcuked that one up bigtime at SD. Guess we had Travis. I played some juniors with Ron. He was brilliant to rove to then and throughout his whole career, just ask Chris Kelly, Ron made him as a footballer at WP...no apologies Chris, you know it!!!

Garthy was nothing short of scintillating when he started League footy as a 16yo mate until he was cleaned up by that dirty D.Swan from EP and was in hospital for a fair stint with internal injuries. He later came back to play some bloody good footy at Swans (Swan Medallist & Captain) & Freo but I sometimes wonder if that injury hadn't occurred how good he might have been?

Ron & Christian were bloody good players mate but that era still rankles with me for the amount of talent we lost almost overnight to other WAFL clubs- Skender, C.Kelly, P.Kelly, D.Cornelius, D & J.Morgan, Milanko, Sara etc amongst others as we were building a pretty strong side at the time!

Ian Williams was another quality local player from that era who knew were the goals were but unfortunately injury curtailed his career during a stint at Footscray.
