SD in 2016 is like watching Groundhog Doy every Saturday Afternoon at 2.15 ...same old mistakes week after week they never learn from them, same couple of guys try their guts out whilst certain others give a yelp every now and then when they can be bothered, players getting injured early in the game leaving us short for 90 minutes or more, after playing 10 games in the wet this year you would think at some point you would work out that overuse of handball is not the go but not our mob the handball happy brigade in the rain...cricket season cant come around quick enough for me as I for one have had enough of the same shit different day scenario with not one iota of care given!

Agree BH, I am totally over this season. It’s like watching a rerun of a really bad movie every week. From the first bounce of the season onwards when Nathan Blakely injured his knee, it has been an awful year for the Black and Whites. The loss of Cary and Watson today another 2 names on a very long list. 5 more matches to sit through and the only hope is that they can get more game time into some of the young guys. Can't see them adding to their wins tally playing like they are. Pretty good debut from Holman today I thought and again Erceg competed well.

The final margin flattered Swans today in my view. In reality the game was pretty much over half way through the 3rd quarter and the boys kicked a number of junk time goals when the Sharks had eased up a bit. To their credit though the Swans guys fought out the game and most of them were putting the effort in. Like just about every other game this year their problems were:

1. Execution of skills – Adam Faulkner is a prime example of this. He is far from the only one but he stands out because he gets so much of the ball, however turns it over so regularly because of his poor kicking
2. Poor decision making – Example of this was in the last quarter when Alex Howard took a really good contested mark about 25 metres out on a far from impossible angle, but instead of going back and taking a shot, he tried a short kick into the corridor which was defended easily by the East Fremantle backs.
3. Poor game awareness – An example of this was Rudy (who I thought generally showed a bit today) took a mark near the boundary line on the grandstand side of the ground in the 2nd quarter. He proceeded to run off the line of the mark and took his kick outside the boundary line. Out of bounds and another wasted opportunity.

I could give so many other examples of these areas today. You have to give the players some leeway in the first half I guess because it was so slippery but many of these errors continued in the 2nd half when the sun was shining. Sharks midfield led by Anthony and Hampson was pretty dominant for most of the day and Riggers must have felt like he was battling against a tidal wave at some stages. Also Notte appeared to be trying to hold the defence and attack together single handed after Cary and Watson were injured.

Just what we need next week, another visit to Leederville to take on Subiaco, 4 weeks after the last encounter. This will be an 80 point flogging if we play the way we did today.

Today's result was good for football, EF needed the win today to keep the pressure on the two alignment teams in the 5.

May come down to the last round when the Sharks play East Perth at ATOM Stadium.

Peel should win their remaining games with only the Alignment derby and the Bottle of Round-Up game against Subiaco at Rushton park being possible losses

Ok effort but let ourselves down again with skills and number of free kicks we away that cost goals, at least 3-4 goals conceded although a couple were a joke.
We dominated the end of the 1st qtr into the breeze but couldn't kick a goal, not helped by Cary's miss from 10 metres out.
Then Watson got cleaned up by Peake and Cary got hurt and we were 2 short for 3 qtrs.
Nuich seems good to go now for the league team and Clarke looks good enough also and then Logue hopefully back in.
No midfield depth this year and Blakley a big loss

Another wonderful piece of journalism by the Claremont apologist Townsend. Not one mention of Swans losing two key players in the first quarter.

One wonders whether he was actually at the game or produced his summary from the Champion Data stats.

The West Editor recently stated that their business model is broken and it is not hard to see why when you employ people like this.

And how many times have we lost a player or 2 to injury in the 1st qtr this year I have actually lost count? But of course that doesn't appear on those stats data so the likes of Freeze who relies solely on them look silly as he can't add them to the games/lost time through injury he attempted to rebuke the other week!!

all teams lose players through injury...what is so special about the bogans that it can be used as an excuse for being beaten?
