Lot of talk about how Subi could beat one of the bottom teams in the AFL..after easily beating Peel on Fri..how would they actually go v Carlton.....despite how average Carlton are, really can't see how Subi would win....on paper Cripps would out bull the likes of Kitchen or Phelan at the clearances.....Kruezer would easily match Clarke....couldn't see either ex AFL listed boys in Lockyer or Litherland being good enough to keep Charlie Curnow quiet for 4 quarters...even Casboult.....plus Simpson and Weitering would be more than capable of handling the likes of De La Huntley, Sokol etc......Murphy and Ed Curnow on AFL careers alone far better footballers than Horsley or Cockie ever were......

Would be interested to see Subi v one of the top VFL sides or SANFL sides, whilst Subi easily dismantled Peel.....they have lost to Peel in the last two GFs,with in all honesty Freos second tier fringe guys, aging guys or first year draftees......all who would struggle to get into Carltons first 22 or even if they did wouldn't improve it much....

Not knocking Subi, great team at the semi professional level, best club in Aust at that level for sure, just think the next step up would be one too far....

No disrespect but couldn’t see Subi getting within 6 or 7 goals of Carlton. Outstanding WAFL side but it’s a big step up to the AFL even against the bottom teams. You only have to look at this week with them only kicking 9 goals against an under strength and disinterested Peel side.

Don't think you can compare the Peel side that played on Friday to the ones they have had in the finals over the lats tow years. Two entirely different teams. If the managed to squeeze into the finals again this year. we could be up for the same outcome.

Subi v Carlton.... Carlton by five goals over a full strength Subi

Subi are the best side outside the Afl and would have no problem winning the Foxtel Cup .If it was still played. And probably would of won the last 3 or 4 Foxtel Cups.Like the Wafl beats the Vfl+ Sanfl in State Matches.
This was spoken about in the early 2000's when Carlton where struggling and Ep had won 3 in a row.But we have seen Subi lose the last couple of Wafl GF's against a hybrid Afl topped up with reasonable Wafl players. But Subi should of won last year.At Leederville Carlton 15-15 105....Subi 10-10 -70...
However at the Gabba yesterday in 25 degree mildly humid Brisbane day .Carlton by 18 points.

This all came from an off the cuff comment by Sharrod Wellingham and has no legitimacy whatsoever. Subi would get smashed by 10 goals plus...nothing more from me on this as it's nonsense.

Considering some of Subiaco's best players (Horsley, Clarke, DeLuca, Lockyer) were proven not to be good enough for the AFL System, I can't comprehend how anyone believes that Subi could get within 15 goals of Carlton. Patrick Cripps would have 50 disposals and Charlie Curnow would kick 6.

Finally some common sense on the subject.

A Ross Lyon coached Peel that had more players in Subi's front half all night than anywhere else. But you got to expect that I guess when you look at Freo's 28 inside 50s on Saturday night for a paltry 7 goals.
