I just saw on the club's website that a farewell to Subi Oval is being held on 3 December in conjunction with the AGM. Past players, coaches and officials will be there to celebrate our history at the traditional home of the mighty Lions. There'll be GF replays on the big screen and all sorts of things. It kicks off at 12 noon in the social premises. I'll be there and it would be good to meet up with other OzFooty posters.

BC when is the farewell for the Vic Hotel?
Sad news about it closing.
Always remember Derby GF Days , that old court yard out the back was packed and they did the whole place in club colours.

I wasn't aware it was closing....sad news indeed. In saying that we generally went into the Subi social premises at the back of the three tiered stand so didn't really frequent the Vic at all.

Apparently it's not. Website still up, Facebook site still up, and neither mention its impending demise.

Looks like it was up for a new lease in the middle of the year, and may have been closed for a few days recently (changeover?), but seems to be a going concern.

No doubt it will suffer greatly from the closing of Subi Oval.

Subi would of been the exception of all the clubs , but all the other clubs playing finals frequented the pubs around Subi.

I think I’ll sneak in for a look. Should be a great experience saying goodbye to a large chunk of West Aussie footy history. Have to go incognito, might not leave in one piece otherwise.

Hopefully they will have a special showing of the '86 GF in your recognition, 58. :P

Yes BC a great idea, if I'm in town I'll definitely be there.
