Can anyone name the Subiaco player whom led the goalkicker's for Carlton's reserves in 1979? He had two stints with the mighty fighting Lions in his career?

Thanks AR.
Ironmonger played 34 games and kicked 35 goals for your beloved Lions from 1977-83 although he had a few years at Carlton in that time frame.
He also played for Thornlie in the old Sunday Football League for a few years after his WAFL days from memory.

BH -- cheers for all that information. I remember him trying hard for Subi when he came back, injuries did not help him from memory.

Do you remember a Subiaco player from that era AR named Brendan McFaull?

BH: I do remember McFaull. Over the years I have come to see that he more than did his bit for Subi in the forward line. Pretty sure he had a couple of five or six goal efforts, which when you consider the defenders he played on, together with the sometimes shambolic state of the club, it was a great effort. In 83 he also had to play second fiddle to Clint Brown, which would not have been easy at times.

What did you think of Mcfaull?

I remember him as a big lump of a lad who could definitely play but was maybe just a touch unfit not unlike another big forward/ruckman who played at Subi around the same time in Vic Melville.
Played 22 games for Subiaco and also 2 for Hawthorn.

BH: Big Melville and McFaull also sharred in common the fact that they survived clean-outs by Ken Armstrong. In 1980, he bootted out the following: Mick Ray, Archie Duda, Peter Lewington and Brent Levitsche; in 1982, Gordon Polson, Frank Bucknall, Steve Gilmour, Peter Bennett and Don Fletecher so it was all happening.

He promotted, Micheal Mort, Bevan Warner, Warren Dean and Phil Scott from the colts.

I think some of the Old Easts boys have been advocatting a similar strategy down at Moss Street.

Gordon Polson & Frank Bucknall headed to WP from memory.
AR did Armstrong move on Schultz & Munro as well or did they just move back east of their own accord?
