This is absolutely the game of the round and arguably game of the year so far. Teams are level on the table, we have a solid % advantage but they will have home ground advantage which is worth 3 - 4 goals imho.

They will be without Crowley (knee) and possibly Banfield (concussion) two big outs for them. We have lost Chris Bryan for approx. 12 weeks with a bad ankle and Madut also did an ankle last week, looked like another knee at the time so a bit of a relief for the big fella, he has had an absolute horror run with injuries. Any news on Dela? he's had a 3 week break so hopefully will be cherry ripe for this game, we will need him as Swans have top shelf tall backs in Notte & Ames who have been dominant in their key positions most weeks. We must not bomb the ball into the forward line as this will play into their hands, quick ball movement, lower the eyes and hit our targets will be essential going inside 50.

Our biggest challenge will be combatting their significant pace advantage. We have never been fleet of foot but can still move the ball quickly, Swans can do both, our mids and backs will need to be very disciplined in manning up whenever there's a turn over so the overlap doesn't happen.

Both teams have very good mids which is where the game will be decided. Both teams have quality up forward, Ryan for us and Cary for them, expect they will put a lot of work into Ryan double teaming him, so we need to be smart and utilise the loose man. cant wait dor Saturday!!

And the weather forecast is looking good for Saturday too. Partly cloudy and a maximum temperature forecasted of 26 degrees. With light winds apparently. After the rain on Friday, just hope the ground dries out quickly and the top not too slippery.

Yes like Leederville Basso does not drain well with the clay base up in that area but it would need to be significant rain to make a difference.

Subi's biggest test so far in 2017. Will the fans brave the tough conditions down at Basso? Will BC lift himself from that sofa and venture on down? Just remember to leave the car keys in the ignition if you do BC...makes it a lot easier for the locals , doh!!! :woohoo: :silly:

DW I am not sure that the attendance by Subi supporters at Basso on Saturday will be any more than previous years; hence, my relative low crowd prediction. This despite the fact that Subiaco will go into the game as raging hot favourites to continue their winning way towards another inevitable GF appearance and premiership.

Some interesting stats come to light with Swans current 3 Home games and Subiaco's 3 Away matches.
Swans at Home thus far have scored 40 Goals. For 267.
1,012 Ball Disposals and 125 Inside 50's
Having 25.3 Disposals / Goal and 67 scoring shots.
With the accuracy rate currently reaching 59.7 %

Whilst Subiaco Away have scored 39 Goals. For 264.
1,019 Ball Disposals and 144 Inside 50's
Doing 26.1 Disposals / Goal and 69 scoring shots.
And an accuracy rate of 56.5 %

Thanks WAG, that shows on paper at least that there is very little, stats wise, between the teams and S42 attempts to claim underdog status are a bit flawed. No use looking at last years form, that's history, we are in the here and now and there's but a cigarette paper between the teams and Swans have home ground advantage. A fine day on a good deck should see a great game of WAFL footy. I've been spruiking this game to anyone who will listen so hopefully we'll get a good turnout.

I think BC is overseas at the moment DW, that's why he's not posting. South America somewhere I seem to recall. He would no doubt feel safer there than at Bassendean :P

BC is not in Colombia at the moment by any chance...picking up some new headphones to tune in to his beloved Subiaco broadcasts?!  ;)

And Swan Districts current Home ground advantage being 17 points. Whilst Subiaco are running on 9 when Away. Not to much between these teams. With the predicted fine weather, should be a fantastic afternoon.
