to be perfectly honest I don't think Subi were physical enough. a couple of big hits early may have influenced the game. Suban was running around being a pest and a clip under the ear might have seen him forgetting the footy and going the man...Shep probably should have niggled Silvani a bit more as well...just a thought.

I was thinking about the 'show of strength' at three-quarter time, which I did not mind at all. From a Subi point of view, the only thing I would add, is that if you are going to go that path, you need to win the game. Wp and Claremont deployed such tactics very well in 1995 and 1996 respectivelly.

too true AR...as did EF in 1985 and Claremont in 1987 but it obviously didn't work for them.

I was thinking exactly the same,not physical enough! Shouldve tested their will and them mentally why some physicality that pushed the boundaries and even overstepped them s little!

yes mate...that's exactly what I meant to say. 85 and 87 were very physical but in 86 and 88 I went to Subi Oval to watch an all in brawl and a game of footy broke out. ;-)

Goodness -- imagine what would have happened with the free kick count if we had of testted the boundaries. I remember Keene throw his weight around a little bit at the first bounce in 1986.

I remember Kevin Taylor from East Freo hitting a Swans player hard early in the 1984 Grand Final but it backfired because Swans then kicked 10 goals to zip in the first quarter!. Mind you the Sharks had brought it back to a 2 goal margin by half time and came within a point before fading in the 3rd. That was one crazy game!
