Just watched the WAFL show with Readings and Townsend and there was a throwaway line right at the end. Readings said the obvious, in that if it is a FART v Subi GF it will be a very small crowd (unless FART organize a rent-a-crowd which is not beneath them). Townsend said it will be Peelmantle friends and relations and the Subi faithful only, then said the WAFC should look at playing the game at Leederville which would be a far better spectacle than a sub 10k crowd at the concrete echo chamber. Would be a just result given the dirty tricks Peelmantle pulled to get the mid season game shifted to their Listed players home ground at Subi. All gate receipts to be shared by the 7 WAFL teams.

It makes a lot of sense and would save the WAFC a bucket load of money.

So you saying that if the Subiaco oval surface was to be damaged in some way, the game would have to be shifted to Leedy.

How UNJUST it would be if Peel make the GF and you guys have to play 17 plus AFL players. How unfair. How does it feel?

It would feel about the same as when we beat them in round 1 with around 17 AFL listed without our captain Horsley or Broughton.

We've got 6 in the bag anything else is a bonus.

surely with 17 dockers players in the team thousands upon thousands of docker supporters would go to the game to cheer them on...after all, that's what Rosich and Nesbit had us believe when they were selling the alignment...increased attendances

bahahahah BC if it is Peel then the only way we'll get anywhere near 10k at the GF is if Freo arrange a brace of charter buses and park them outside the Mandurah Centrelink office offering free meth and a packet of Winnie blues to anyone who hops on for a free trip to Subi oval and payed entry.

It makes complete sense to shift the game to the WAFL's 2nd ground if Peel make the GF, a 5000+ crowd would look so much better on the TV there than at the concrete dump.

the other thing if chunder do get through is that Subi Oval will give them home ground advantage with 17 Dockers in the team.

Funny you should say that BC, I was thinking that the peeldorkers will have home ground advantage against South's this weekend as this is currently the Dorkers home ground as well

Will this be a Freo Derby as such? :silly:

Spot on Falcon, I think guys like Horsley, Phelan, Wheeler may have played at Subi oval 4 or 5 times, the majority would have played there once or twice, Subi oval has been an away venue for Subi since we moved to Leedo. An away venue for all clubs except WART & FART since 2014.

Crikey you blokes really are getting a raw deal. Not only having to face an AFL laden team (assuming they account for Souths first), you might have to play a GF on a ground no longer your home ground and to make matters horrendously worse and unfair, most of the Freo players have played on Subiaco Oval on many occasions.

But of course back in the day before you guys shifted from Subiaco Oval to Leederville it wasn't an issue was it? That was just the rules everyone knows each and every year. Not allowed to mention who had home ground advantage then.
