Fair enough LH I think your being a little kind most of the team are not far out of colts. I believe Subi just had a very poor day in the reserves. Did you guys have many regulars out of the side.

Not really mate. Just Yarran and Dylan Clarke. Plus Rhys of course who didn't play yesterday. There are others but they've been out for most of the season

good effort again by the boys...in particular Horse who was unbelievable through the middle. When I looked at the AFL players who suited up for the ferals I was pretty worried tbh. The likes of McKenzie, Brown, Redden, Jetta, MacGinity, Giles, McInnes and so on look good on paper...but we really came to play. Also good news that there didn't appear to be any injuries. With a bit of luck it'll be raining at the Chunderdome next week and Subi refuses to play there for safety reasons as its a chithole as well.

I tipped us by 35pts but will take the 22 after seeing who they had in their list. In saying that I think they were a bit top heavy and after a slow start we figured out not to kick it to their massive talls who generally out marked us all day. As usual we got monstered in the hitouts 65 to 29 but our mids, Horse & Kitch in particular dominated the clearences with help from Cockie & co.

We had 2 solid winners up forward in Ryan & Shep, Ryan could have had 6 or 7 but was unusually inaccurate, Shep was terrific against a real quality AFL player in Mckenzie, a great battle of strength with Shep bagging 3 goals.

Backs were terrific against much bigger bodies led by Heal who was almost impassable, always cool and knew when to spoil and when to mark. Locks was good but unusually had a couple of brain snaps that gave away possession, Dec was solid and gave some good run off their big blokes.

First and last qtrs were even score wise, in the first we continually kicked to packs where we were out marked. Thought the half forwards in particular didn't work hard enough to spread and give more options. The game was won in the middle qtrs where we outscored them 6.9 to 3.5, again we were inaccurate which was worrying given the very good conditions but we also forced them into the same due to terrific pressure around the contest and numbers at the ball.

Horse BOG by the length of the straight, his gut running was a great example for his team mates, Kitch in and under was at his niggling best and Broughts and Heal down back were my best 4 with Ryan close but let down by his inaccuracy.

FART next week who I think will be a stronger outfit than WART down on their dung heap, while we are set in top spot it's important to keep the momentum up and the team settled given we'll have a two week break before our first final against either Joondy or Sowfs.

Just my opinion fellas but a forward of that quality is the secret to any side. We don't have the size in the midfield to rotate like the better teams. Cockie was very damaging in my opinion.

LB agree, as I said you were a bit top heavy to affecting team balance which is an issue for both alignment teams, plus you got very little from guys like Redden who was too busy trying to flex his muscles, Mcginnity always has a dip as did Adamson, Jetta was busy with 24 disposals but is a receiver not a ball getter, as you said guys like Cockie have a real presence in the packs and we usually outnumbered your guys at the contest. Was surprised at the poor foot skills by a number of the AFL guys (some of ours wasn't that much better at times) after seeing the precision of the ball movement by your ressies team which was first class even given there was little pressure.

when you say "we" LB...do you mean EP or west coast? MacGinnity, Redden, Jetta are all experienced AFL mids ..so not sure where you are coming from.

Not sure what your looking at BC. If your talking inside mids at the coal face EP is lacking. Mcginnity is a warrior, Redden is solid and Colledge has the size but is not that interested. After that we or they or them whichever sits best with you drop off badly. So badly in fact we had to use Johnson as a midfielder at stoppages to stop Subi walking the ball out of them.
