I hear that there were a couple of very bad goal umpiring desicions during the
reserves game, same female umpire with both mistakes,a Subiaco kick for goal
bounced of her head back into play and it was called play on(which quickly
went down the other end for a east freo goal) shurley if the ball bounced off her head
it must have been a score of some description, a goal if not touched between the kicker
or a point otherwise(unless for some reason she was standing in the goal square)
then at games end scores were level east freo had a shot/snap for goal and she signalled a point which the central umpire reversed and the game ended in a draw
my sorces(players and coaches) said the ball missed by quite a few metres, so I would
think she either supports east freo or just had a bad day out never the less dont think
she will be umpiring at this level anymore this season!

Yeah that was a strange one you're right.

Pickett was deep in the right full-forward pocket at the city end.

He snapped it onto the boot and miraculously it went through the big sticks, hitting the goal umpire who was behind the goal-line. The ball rebounded back into the field of play.

Amid the confusion, play-on was called. Though some players had stopped. No score given. And yeah EF did sweep the ball up to their goal.

Cost us a goal, cost Pickett a goal. 4 would have looked better than 3 for him. In a drawn game it was crucial.

yeah i was there it was quite bizzare on both occasions.....
