Rumour file had a SF gate keeper ring in today and said he and other match day helpers have been sacked and replaced by the Dorkers women team. Said he recieved an email from Tom Bottrel informing him his services were no longer required.
Pretty sad way to treat your club fans and members.

I hope that this is not true because if true it is one of the saddest things I've read on this site.
Our game is much, much more than a business. The connection that supporters get through the community of their club is the foundation of our game - without it their is no game.

Surely that can't be true...I thought Freo had ceased any dealings with SF when they moved down to Cockburn. If it is true it's a disgrace. Members, supporters, volunteers, coterie groups are the connection between the WAFL clubs and the community and if you want to disenfranchise your most important supporter base, go ahead and do something like that given the AFLW isn't particularly popular with most WAFL supporters anyway.

Gee that's sad if true, what connection do the freo ladies team have with SFFC or Freo oval ........ absolutely zero i would think. Very disappointing by the SFFC if true.

Disgraceful if true. I even heard trainers are paid an "honoury" amount by highly resourced and profitable AFL clubs. I didn't ask what amount but they are not paid even the minimum wage. And that came from a trainer at one of our AFL clubs. She said basically it's a hobby.

I may be mistaken, but aren't the Fremantle AFLW team playing all their games at Fremantle oval. Maybe it is a trade off for money that their games will bring into the club , re beer etc.

No they're playing their first home game at the new Stadium.

My understanding is that AFL sheilas league will now man AFL sheilas league gates - not SFFC volunteers as it has been apparently

Another piss poor attempt from Gil the dill to shove the women's footy down our throats. They're getting ahead of themselves. Charge $2 to get in and of course you'll fill the stadium. Wait till they try to charge $30/50 and see how it goes. This is bloody disgraceful.

Hoping like hell it is a rumour which would be more plausible.
With the terrible news we heard Monday, really do not need any more bad news!
However if this rumour is confirmed as true, South Fremantle will need to take a hard long look at themselves!!
