Not a fan of the top 5 at all , but the way it turns out this year finishing 2nd is probably the worst of all the spots.

We cop a fully loaded Dockers Reserves first up and then if we get past that Subi away who have a full week rest, for a crack at a GF Berth.

Bar the double chance there isn't really a huge bonus in 2nd well not this year, finishing 1st really is a box seat for GF berth, under the top four format the top two teams get a equal crack at the GF first up.

All thing being equal... fine , but with the Peel mob now loaded it make the whole thing a joke

What is an even bigger joke is that if you beat Peel on Saturday, Peel laden with full-time professional players will have an extra day to recover than the winner of Swans and West Perth. What is worse the winners of that match will have to go to work the following day.

Second gives you no advantage over 3rd at all...bar a home game first up.

Yes I see the finals games after this Saturday are ALL on Sundays which is CRAP.

Mate we have known the landscape of the top five and known our possible opponent weeks out. The team seem to be much better prepared for this year than last year , I for one wont be offering any excuses. The team just needs to keep the momentum and form for another four weeks.
The issue of who Fremantle release to play finals is completley out of our hands, I can assure you Ditchy , Shephard and co would be kissing the behinds of their AFL club to have as much quality released to play as possible. As Swan has pointed out earlier Professionals V Semi Professionals

How many weeks did Darcy get suspended for, hopefully it was two weeks so he will miss the Qual final, he is a monster that could be very influential at WAFL level. If he doesn't play, you will still have to face up to Griffin who was very good v the Bombers. I think if you look at both lists Souths are every bit as talented as Subi but the difference has been the consistency of performance over the year. Given that, I don't think you should have any fears with Peel, they will have their 15 listed players but they are not as good as the ones they had last year, DeBoer and Mazungu were dominant during the finals last year along with Blakely and Yarran. who wont be there this year.

Feel you are right Dwert, comparing last year with this, preparation up a notch. Still a huge task up front but regardless as you say out of our hands.

Darcy only got a week....true that Peels lot lack the harden quality of last year....but reckon the likes of Darcy, Cox,Ryan etc will be better for their recent AFL exposure...even Taberner gained some confidence.....gonna be a good test for credentials of a few wannabe AFL guys un Schloithe and Kelly plus recently delisted guys in Shaw, Johnson et al....SF are one of the two sides capable in the comp to match an AFL laden aligned side

You are spot on Freez...There should be a number of lads some you have mentioned who should be relishing the opportunity to pit themselves against current AFL footballers in the pressure environment of a final. It can only enhance their aspirations to get too or back to their AFL dream.

Dwert the same applies to guys like Liam Ryam, if he has a good finals series he'll get drafted, if not he probably wont, simple as that. Recruiters take a lot of notice of finals form.
